Trent Alexander-Arnold was booed upon his return to Anfield

On the day he returned to face his former club, instead of applause from Liverpool supporters, Alexander-Arnold was met with numerous mocking boos at Anfield.

In the 81st minute of the match, Trent Alexander-Arnold was substituted in by manager Xabi Alonso. Yet, he was welcomed with growing boos as he came back to the club where he grew up, Liverpool, now representing Real Madrid. After the initial jeers, some home fans appeared to stand and applaud the ex-Liverpool right-back.
