Coach Harry Kewell gives an unexpected response about Hoàng Hên's potential call-up to the Vietnam national team

Coach Harry Kewell mentioned that it is challenging for him to provide an opinion on this issue since he lacks sufficient details.

During the press conference after the 4-0 victory over PVF-CAND, Coach Harry Kewell shared: "The whole team performed very well. We had a clear structure, understood each other’s playing style, and maintained our pace throughout the match. Every player is working hard to compete for their position, which is very positive because we want to foster healthy competition.

With competition, we gain more motivation to improve, and today that was clearly shown through the team’s quality. I am pleased to see our solid defense and effective control of the game.”

After four matches in charge, the Australian legend gave his initial assessment of the Hanoi FC players: “I am surprised by how quickly the players adapted. They understood and absorbed my philosophy very fast. I am impressed with their thinking about the game because football is a sport of intellect, not just running on the field or playing instinctively.”

Speaking about Hoàng Hên, who scored twice, Coach Harry Kewell said: “I never said Hên’s fitness was insufficient. I said that after a year without regular playing time, it’s very hard to regain match sharpness and physical condition, especially in the style we are building. I have never doubted Hên’s ability; he just needs more rest, and we must protect the player and the team by making reasonable changes.”

When asked if Hên could be called up to the Vietnam national team during the upcoming FIFA Days, Coach Harry Kewell responded: “That’s a tough question. At the moment, I don’t have any information to share.”

After round 11, the V-League will have a long break (2.5 months) to make way for FIFA Days and the SEA Games. Regarding this, Mr. Kewell admitted: “As players or coaches, we are not used to such a long break. However, we have a specific plan and know what we need to do to be ready for the new season in the next 90 days. Still, our main focus remains on the next match.”
