'Professor' Wenger exclaimed one thing about how Mbappe finished off Barca

Arsène Wenger lauded Mbappé's ability to take advantage of Barcelona's advanced defense, leading Real Madrid to a 2-1 win in La Liga.

Arsène Wenger spoke highly of Kylian Mbappé after the French striker fully exploited Barcelona's high defensive line weakness, playing a key role in Real Madrid's 2-1 win in the La Liga highlight match.

Commenting on Mbappé’s opening goal and his clever timing to beat Barcelona’s offside trap on Bein Sports, the legendary French coach stated: “Barcelona lost Inigo Martínez, an experienced defender. They also missed Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, two other seasoned players. Today, Barcelona lacked maturity. Mbappé told his midfielders: ‘I will only move between the two center-backs, watch me every time you have the ball.’”

This match marked Mbappé’s 12th goal against Barcelona in his career. Although he missed a penalty in the 52nd minute thanks to an excellent save by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, Real Madrid maintained their lead until the final whistle. So far in the 2025/26 season, Mbappé has scored 17 goals in 16 matches for Los Blancos.

In the final stoppage time, Pedri received a direct red card, leaving Barcelona to end the El Clasico with ten men. This victory allowed Real Madrid to extend their lead to 5 points over the chasing pack, continuing to top the La Liga table.

Notably, since joining Real Madrid in 2024, Mbappé has scored 6 goals in just 5 El Clasico matches, an impressive rate. In the recent game, he once again showed his special knack against Barcelona by opening the scoring in the 22nd minute with a classy finish, after an earlier goal was disallowed for offside.
