Barca's coach points out the 'key' to defeating Real Madrid

Marcus Sorg, assistant to coach Hansi Flick, shared important comments before the significant La Liga round 10 match against Real Madrid.

During the away game at Bernabeu in La Liga round 10, coach Hansi Flick will be absent from Barcelona's bench due to a suspension received in the win over Girona.

At the pre-match press conference, Marcus Sorg, assistant to Hansi Flick, acknowledged that the encounter with Real Madrid will present many challenges, but also outlined the team's strategy to aim for a favorable outcome.

He stated: "This will be a very tough match, but we must show our strength. We need to play in our usual style, with high pressing and a high defensive line. If we change too much, we will lose our tactical structure, which would be disadvantageous.

The chances are always equally split, 50–50, and the better team will win. To succeed at Bernabeu, we must avoid losing possession, control the game well, and maintain cohesion. When the entire team is united, opportunities will naturally arise.

Like last season, they remain very strong in transition phases. Our challenge is to press effectively. The biggest difference now is that they press much better, especially up front."

Regarding the squad situation, the Catalan team will definitely be without Raphinha, Barcelona’s outstanding forward from last season. Meanwhile, the availability of Ferran Torres and Jules Kounde remains uncertain.

The German strategist said: "Raphinha will not be able to participate. Whether Ferran starts will be decided tomorrow. Jules Kounde also has to be assessed until the final moments before we make a decision."

Last season, Barcelona won all four matches against Real Madrid across all competitions, completing a domestic treble and asserting their dominance in Spain. Therefore, Hansi Flick and his players will aim for a fifth consecutive victory to reinforce their strength against their biggest rival and reclaim the top spot to continue the title race.

The match between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place at 22:15 tonight (October 26).
