A series of Vietnam national team players deliver great news to coach Kim Sang Sik

Players from both the Vietnam national team and the U23 squad have been consistently bringing positive updates to coach Kim Sang Sik with their impressive performances in the V-League.

The 8th round of the V-League kicked off with two key matches: Becamex TPHCM vs Hanoi FC and PVF-CAND vs Ninh Binh. As expected, no surprises occurred as the away teams Hanoi and Ninh Binh both secured 3-1 victories.

Playing away at Becamex TPHCM under unfavorable weather conditions, Harry Kewell’s team struggled in the first half and conceded a goal at the 25th minute. However, with relentless effort, Passira equalized for the visitors.

In the second half, the capital city team dominated the game and added two more goals thanks to Hoang Hen (56') and Xuan Manh (90'+10). The home side managed to reduce the deficit to 2-3 in the final moments with a penalty by Ferreira, but it wasn’t enough. Earlier, Oduenyi disappointed by narrowly missing a penalty.

In the other match, home team PVF-CAND surprisingly took an early lead with Thanh Nhan scoring in the 9th minute. However, the dominant team on the standings, Ninh Binh, quickly turned the game around. At the 30th minute, Bao Toan made an impressive solo run before unleashing a powerful shot to equalize.

In the second half, the home side continued to fight hard, but the class of Geovane and Hoang Duc helped the Hoa Lu team secure a 3-1 win, maintaining their top position on the table and extending their unbeaten streak to 32 matches.

Notably, after just two matches in round 8, players like Xuan Manh, Thanh Nhan, Hoang Duc, and the newly naturalized star Hoang Hen have all scored. Previously in round 7, national team players such as Vo Anh Quan, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Dinh Xuan Tien, and others also shone. In other developments, Vietnamese-German player Tran Thanh Chung made his first start. This is a positive sign not only for their clubs but also for the Vietnam national and U23 teams in upcoming important tournaments.
