On October 25th Beijing time, the 28th round of the Chinese Super League kicked off. In the latest two completed matches, promoted Yunnan powered to a 4-1 win over relegation candidate Meizhou Hakka, while in a relegation showdown, Wuhan Three Towns surprisingly had zero shots on target and lost 1-2 to Shenzhen, who played with 10 men. Consequently, the standings have been updated with Yunnan in 8th, Shenzhen 12th, Wuhan Three Towns 13th, and Meizhou 14th!

Wuhan Three Towns faced Shenzhen. Both teams currently face relegation pressure, and since neither is very strong, this was a great chance to fight for three points, depending on who could seize the opportunity. Wuhan Three Towns played at home but showed low fighting spirit, registering zero shots on target in the first half. In contrast, the away team Shenzhen launched sharp attacks, dominating and constantly creating chances. Edu Garcia opened the scoring with a header, putting Shenzhen in control. Unexpectedly, Yang Yiming lost his temper and committed a malicious foul, elbowing a Three Towns player and receiving a straight red card, leaving Shenzhen one man down. In the second half, it seemed the game might turn, but even with an extra player, Three Towns failed to create scoring chances, still zero shots on target. Shenzhen took advantage and scored again through Dugalić. In the final moments, Shenzhen made a mistake gifting an own goal to the opponent, but the match ended 2-1 in Shenzhen’s favor, securing their survival in a remarkable way. Despite the loss, Wuhan Three Towns' relegation risk remains low!

Meizhou Hakka played against Yunnan. Meizhou, under huge relegation pressure, urgently needed three points. Facing the strong promoted team Yunnan, both sides engaged in an attacking battle. The first half saw end-to-end fierce attacks but no goals. After halftime, Yunnan suddenly surged, scoring four consecutive goals to gain a huge advantage and effectively decide the match. In the final moments, Meizhou fought back to score once and avoid a shutout but still suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat. Failing to secure points, Meizhou’s chances of relegation seem increasingly likely. Their lack of strength suggests they might be heading toward relegation without much fight!

Currently, the latest standings show only one relegation spot left, with three teams competing for it. In other words, two of these three teams will be relegated — Meizhou, Hainan, and Yatai — three competing for two spots. Who will go down remains to be seen; let's wait and watch!
