Amorim: 'Maguire is a leader at Man Utd'

During the press conference before the Brighton game, Manchester United’s manager Ruben Amorim disclosed that Maguire stands as one of the team’s leaders, alongside the formal captain Bruno Fernandes. Furthermore, the Portuguese manager elaborated on the secret to their victories.

“Definitely. I believe Harry Maguire is one of them. Each player shows leadership differently. Diogo Dalot is also trying to become a leader in the team. Luke Shaw contributes in another way, through focus and performance on the pitch.Noussair Mazraoui also has a positive influence, though it’s less obvious, but you can feel it. Lisandro Martinez is very important as well; he has a strong voice and personality.

Sometimes, it depends on the timing. If we win more, confidence will help more players gradually take on leadership roles within the group.”

During the press conference, Amorim emphasized that every Man United victory this season stems from the right attitude:

“If you look back at our wins, especially this year, most come from the right mindset. I’m not saying my players don’t want to win or don’t want to run, but sometimes you have to push yourself to do the basics well. When you do that, you get closer to winning.

Regarding Brighton, they are a team that makes it hard for any opponent to press high. They often win matches like that, so we must prepare thoroughly. We prepare carefully not only for big teams like Chelsea or Liverpool but also for smart and well-organized opponents like Brighton.”

Man United had been overwhelmed by crisis, facing numerous criticisms and doubts. But now, under Ruben Amorim’s guidance, they are gradually reviving.
