Manchester United still win Manchester City despite missed penalty decisions! Double crit on and off the field, B Fehojlund taunted the sworn enemy

Manchester United relied on two goals in just over two minutes late in the game to beat Manchester City 2-1. Bruno Fernandes' equaliser was a gift from home midfielder Mateus Nunez, Amad Diallo got his own goal back and Nunez returned for a foul. However, the Reds felt they should have been awarded a penalty earlier, and 15 minutes before Hojlund burst into the box and was brought down by Ruben Dias, but referee Anthony Taylor and the VAR video assistant referee both ruled it was not a penalty.

Slow-motion footage showed Hojlund preparing to stop the ball and Dias reaching out his left leg to reach for the ball, but the Portuguese centre-back didn't touch the ball and instead tripped the United centre-forward. Taylor motioned for the game to go ahead and VAR did not intervene. A statement issued by the Premier League declared that the confrontation between Hojlund and Dias was a "normal contact".

The Premier League's statement on the decision read: "The referee chose not to award a penalty for the collision between Hojlund and Dias, and the decision was verified and confirmed by VAR as a normal contact."

It must have been a controversial decision, as Dias didn't touch the ball and did kick Hojlund. Of course, the Manchester United striker's fall must also have an active choice to fall, and he can not fall. But this is the usual practice of modern football strikers, and the referee's decisions often have "double standards", sometimes giving penalties, sometimes not awarding.

United fans were unhappy with the decision, but luckily the team fought on their own, and the opposition Manchester City did not give up, so the decision did not make the difference between the outcome of the game.

During the game, Hojlund was also the protagonist of another controversial scene. He clashed with Manchester City's England international Kyle Walker in the first half, with the pair head-to-head in a display of the gunpowder that the Manchester derby should have. However, then Walker "played" his upper body and suddenly fell to the ground. This sparked a larger conflict between the two sides, with Maguire stepping up and angrily denouncing his fellow England for acting.

Manchester United legends Gary Neville and Roy Keane have both criticised Walker's behaviour as embarrassing as the contact between him and Hojlund is reciprocal and should not have fallen at all. Manchester City may want to repeat what Sergio Aguero did to Fellaini, but unfortunately they were unable to do so. Referee Taylor opted to play 50 boards each, and both players were booked.

After the game, Hojlund mercilessly mocked Walker's acting skills. "Manchester is red, violets are blue. What a wonderful performance, but the Oscars should be awarded to ......," he wrote on his social media account.

Another centre-forward, Zirkze, and Manchester United captain Fernandes also made a merciless taunt to the Manchester City fans at the Etihad after the game, in which Fernandes raised a 2-to-1 finger to remind the home crowd of the score of the game. There is no doubt that the derby win has given Manchester United the "bragging rights" for some time to come, and at the moment, the sky in Manchester is red.

Referring to his penalty, Fernandes recalled: "We were 1-0 down and it was a good chance. I was just trying to snatch the ball away from Ederson. When I take a penalty, I get nervous and that's a big part of the game. My trick is to calm myself down at critical moments."
