Solskjaer watched Wolves and is expected to return to the Premier League as coach, or play against Ruud van Nistelrooy Manchester United! Expose the real reason for the scene

Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the guest of honour at Molineux Stadium when Wolves were at Wolves' home to Ipswich All. In England-related odds, he is fancied to be the favourite to replace Gary O'Neill as the new manager at Wolves.

Wolves suffered a 2-1 losing streak in 94 minutes and finished second from bottom, ahead of their opponent Ipswich. However, according to the Daily Mail, the real reason for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's presence may be to meet with Ipswich Town boss Keeran McKenna. The two hugged before the game, and Suo Shuai gave a thumbs up.

It has also been suggested on social media that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was watching Saturday's game in part because one of his sons is an Ipswich Town fan!

Solskjaer will face a difficult situation if he does manage Wolves, with United's interested left-back Rayan Ait-Noori rumoured to be shown a second yellow card after the final whistle and had to be dragged back down the tunnel by team-mate Craig Dawson, while Cunha, who scored the goal, was also involved in the push.

Cunha could even be banned for a long period of time, as footage shows him punching an Ipswich official in the face and removing the latter's glasses.

If Solskjaer returns, he could be a rival in the Premier League relegation battle against a former Manchester United team-mate. Ruud van Nissterooy's Leicester City suffered a 4-0 defeat at Newcastle United.

It was Ruud van Nistelrooy's first defeat in charge of the Premier League and he said afterwards: "Against the top teams in the league, we took the initiative to help the opposition and created some set-pieces in their favour and it was a difficult afternoon. But I think it also helps the team to develop and we need to learn from those games and how Newcastle beat us on the counter-attack, they were smart defensively and from set-pieces. It's been a long season and we're going to keep going, reflect and learn from this defeat to get better."

Interestingly, Leicester's next game will be against Wolves three days before Christmas, with Ole Gunnar van Nistelrooy a game against Ruud van Nistelrooy if he can quickly take over the latter. Reflecting on the relegation battle, Ruud van Nistelrooy added: "Every game is important for us. In the Premier League, everything has to be done right, and the next game is the same."

More noteworthy, Wolves will host Manchester United on Boxing Day after Christmas, and it will be interesting to see if Solskjaer has a chance to lead his side to his old club.
