The 2024 Guangdong Provincial Futsal Championship for Primary and Secondary School Students has come to a successful conclusion

From December 6th to 11th, the finals of the 2024 Guangdong Provincial Primary and Secondary School Student Futsal Championship were held in Qingyuan, with 48 teams promoted from the regional competition and wild card invitations gathered together to compete for positions in 6 groups.

This is the first five-a-side special event for campus football in Guangdong Province, and it is also one of the important competitions of the series of football events for primary and secondary school students sponsored by the Guangdong Student Sports and Art Federation every year. According to the "2024 Guangdong Provincial Student Sports Competition Plan" issued by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, a futsal championship will be held in the second half of the year, providing an important platform for testing the teaching achievements of various campus football promotion schools and characteristic schools.

Under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, the competition was funded and supported by the China Football Development Foundation, and the competition was carried out in eastern Guangdong, the Pearl River Delta, western Guangdong and northern Guangdong.

The 48 teams participating in the finals include campus football teams from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhuhai and other places in the economically developed Pearl River Delta region, as well as traditional campus football teams from Zhanjiang, Maoming, Foshan and other places with a long football tradition and strong football atmosphere, as well as campus football teams from Huizhou, Heyuan, Qingyuan, Yunfu and other places with great potential for the development of football.

The finals are divided into six age groups: primary school boys' group A and B, primary school girls' group A and group B, junior high school boys' group A and high school (secondary vocational) men's group A.

The high-quality competitive stage of the finals attracted Chen Taojie, Yu Haoqian, Guo Chenlong (Shenzhen No. 2 Experimental Middle School) and Hu Zichen (Guangdong University of Foreign Studies Experimental High School) and other students who were selected for the five-a-side national junior team. It also provides a good model for futsal practical learning for school teams around the world.

In order to achieve the goal of "making the game more than the game", the organizing committee organized a single best player selection activity during the event, and the organizer awarded interesting prizes to the students who won the title of best player, and professionals conducted wonderful interviews and interactions with the best players, creating a stage for outstanding players to realize the dream of "little star".

After the game, the organizing committee will cooperate with the echelon youth training system of the Chinese Super League and the Chinese League professional football clubs in Guangdong to hold the public welfare activity of "Guangdong Province Primary and Secondary School Students Futsal Championship Best Team Training Camp", aiming to provide opportunities for young athletes with outstanding performance and superior ability in the event to learn from each other, broaden their personal horizons, and receive higher-level training, so as to train more outstanding reserve talents for campus football in Guangdong Province.

The high-level referee team of this competition was invited and selected by the Football Branch of the Guangdong Student Sports and Art Federation, and Mr. Li Zhizhong, the former international referee and the only Chinese referee in the FIFA five-a-side World Cup final, served as the chief referee, led by Mr. Luo Jingwen, a senior Chinese Super League game supervisor, led the game supervision team, and a referee team composed of 26 referees from all over Guangdong and universities. The fair and smooth holding provides a strong guarantee of high quality.
