The Premier League's newest record signing has arrived, perhaps late in this summer transfer window but definitely a blockbuster deal. According to Italy-based transfer expert Romano, Liverpool has signed Newcastle's 25-year-old Swedish striker and last season's Premier League Silver Boot winner, Isak, for a record-breaking £130 million, making him the highest transfer fee in Premier League history.
Romano stated: Breaking news, Liverpool’s major signing is confirmed, Isak is set to join Liverpool with a £130 million transfer fee agreed with Newcastle, marking a record deal in the Premier League. Liverpool had already reached a personal agreement with Isak, and after Newcastle’s approval, Isak will undergo a medical at Liverpool, with the player’s heart fully set on Liverpool.

Isak joined Newcastle in the summer of 2022 from Real Sociedad for a €70 million transfer fee. To date, he has played 109 matches across all competitions, scoring 62 goals and providing 11 assists, helping the team win the 2024-25 League Cup.

Isak is currently 25 years old, stands 1.92 meters tall, and is a right-footed technical striker. Like Haaland, he is a Nordic center forward, but Isak possesses more refined footwork. What Isak lacked was a top-tier platform; joining Liverpool gives him the chance to become a football superstar and win more trophies. Last season, Isak scored 23 goals and provided 6 assists in 34 Premier League appearances, finishing just behind Liverpool’s Salah as the Premier League Silver Boot winner. Now, with Liverpool signing Isak, the Premier League Golden Boot and Silver Boot winners will be leading the attack together. Isak’s transfer value is estimated at €120 million, his contract with Newcastle runs until 2028, and his current weekly wage is £120,000.
Whether wealthy or not depends on Liverpool this summer—time to take off!
