Bruno Fernandes has rejected Saudi Arabia for the third time, staying at Manchester United this summer! If United sell their new star, they might sign Balyeba.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has turned down Saudi Arabian league offers for the third time this summer. He is willing to move next summer but has no plans to leave this year. The British Daily Mail revealed that the 30-year-old Portuguese ironman wishes to stay focused and uninterrupted before the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Because of this, Fernandes has consecutively refused approaches from Saudi giants Al Hilal, Al Nassr, and Al Ittihad. However, after next year’s World Cup, Fernandes will be nearly 32 and is expected to seek new challenges, potentially moving to Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer, or another European league.

At this moment, “Jingji Net” reports that 20-year-old prospect Cody Menoe is more likely to leave this summer. He has not featured in the first two Premier League matches of the new season and is considered by coach Rúben Amorim as a "Fernandes backup" midfielder, facing a serious threat to his position. In fact, Menoe has been a substitute since returning from injury last December.

Menoe only has 24 months left on his contract with Manchester United, and no renewal agreement has been reached. His agent demands a salary exceeding £150,000, which has become a sticking point in negotiations. According to the Daily Mail, United is expected to decide Menoe’s future within the next 48 hours.

It is said that up to 10 clubs have shown interest in this young player. Since reports on Monday suggested he might consider a fresh start, several clubs have contacted him. British media noted that even Real Madrid and their city rivals Atlético Madrid may seek to loan Manchester United’s new star.

Of course, if Menoe joins Real Madrid, he would likely be a substitute, so this is unlikely. The player reportedly wants to stay at Manchester United but hopes to become a first-team regular. Otherwise, he would accept a transfer to a club competing in the Champions League.

With only six days left in the transfer window, a conclusion is expected soon. Manchester United will not actively push to offload Menoe, but if a transfer happens, a sale is preferred over a loan. If Menoe is sold, Amorim might try to sign defensive midfielder Carlos Balyeba from Brighton at the last minute, as United currently has only four central midfielders: Casemiro, Ugarte, Menoe, and the withdrawn Fernandes.

However, regarding Balyeba’s transfer, the “Seagulls” will not lower their price. Signing the 21-year-old Cameroonian defensive midfielder this summer requires £120 million. If United opts for a last-minute deal, they may have to pay extra since Brighton won’t have time to find a replacement.

Amorim hinted that Menoe will be heavily rotated in the EFL Cup second-round match against League Two side Grimsby on Wednesday, with Menoe almost certain to play. "We have three games this week, and we have a strong squad, so rotation is necessary to try and win every match," said Amorim.

The Manchester United coach said missing out on European competition might be beneficial for his team because they are not yet ready to compete in Europe and need time to gel as a squad.

Amorim stated, "My feeling is that to perform well both in Europe and the Premier League, we still need time to build team cohesion. Players must fight for their places, and then everything will change. Sometimes one lineup plays, sometimes another. We have cup competitions, so everyone will get plenty of games."

"We need time to prepare for each match; the competition is very intense. We need to lay a solid foundation and keep progressing. Manchester United will eventually return to European competition, giving every player more opportunities to play," Amorim concluded with a hopeful outlook.
