The most dangerous chance for Man Utd came from an unexpected source

Manchester United had only one “big chance” in their 1-1 draw with Fulham, surprisingly created by… goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

In this match, Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty in the first half, preventing Ruben Amorim’s team from breaking the deadlock early. In the second half, MU took the lead thanks to an own goal by Rodrigo Muniz following a towering header from Leny Yoro. According to The Sun, throughout the whole game, MU’s attack was ineffective and barely produced any significant threatening chances. Shockingly, the player who created the best chance was actually… goalkeeper Bayindir.

From a long ball over the top, the ball reached Matheus Cunha, but the Brazilian newcomer’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Bernd Leno. On social media, many fans sarcastically commented:

“When the goalkeeper becomes the playmaker, you know the team has hit rock bottom in a chaotic period.”

“Spent over £200 million on the attack but still need the goalkeeper to create chances.”

Notably, all three highly anticipated new attacking signings, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunhafailed to make an impact. This trio did not score, did not assist, and rarely applied enough pressure on Fulham’s goal. Their scoring drought only increased the pressure on coach Amorim, especially since MU has spent over £200 million on attacking signings in the last two transfer windows.

Bayindir’s form is also questionable. Although he contributed to the only chance created against Fulham, the Turkish goalkeeper was criticized for a poor performance previously, particularly for mistakes in the opening round loss to Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Andre Onana remains on the bench, and instability in goal has forced MU’s management to urgently seek new solutions. According to English media, the Red Devils are close to signing Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens to increase competition.
