Manchester United had intended to add a new midfielder during the summer window, yet multiple candidates, such as Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, Crystal Palace’s Adam Houghton, and Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Yulmand, became hard to sign primarily because of financial constraints. Recently, Angelo Stiller from Bundesliga’s Stuttgart was linked, but his transfer chances remain slim.
According to Sky Germany, Manchester United did consider 23-year-old Stiller, a player admired and monitored by their transfer department, who came through Bayern Munich’s youth system and has performed well in the Bundesliga. However, Florian Plattenberg clarified that United have had no direct contact with Stiller.
It is reported that neither internally nor externally has Manchester United engaged in negotiations or even made any plans, so the links between the two sides are purely speculative. This means Stuttgart will keep the German defensive midfielder this season, with his contract running until 2028.
Before the second round of the Premier League, Amrabat hinted that no signing is 100% confirmed yet. "You need to ask Jason (Wilcox), as the club has a dedicated department handling these matters. For now, I’m focused only on Sunday’s match, though we communicate daily about all situations."
Manchester United is still focused on selling players, but deals involving Hojlund, Garnacho, Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia might only be completed before the transfer window closes. The club likely won’t make major signings and may only manage routine deals like young goalkeeper Sena Lamens, costing around ten to twenty million pounds.
Roma’s sporting director Frederic Massara confirmed that since Sancho decided against transferring on Monday, nothing has changed and they have abandoned pursuit. The "Giallorossi" chief explained, "Sancho is a very capable player and has attracted interest from all major Italian clubs. But currently, I believe conditions, especially motivation, do not support continuing negotiations; Sancho doesn’t want to join Roma."
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said Roma has shifted focus to Chelsea’s 19-year-old winger Tyrique George, who can play on both flanks. Meanwhile, Manchester United is desperately urging Sancho to leave soon. "United are pushing hard to get Sancho out quickly because they don’t want him to remain at the club," Romano stated.
Manchester United and Sancho have openly fallen out. Though other players are also sidelined by Amrabat, they still keep their squad numbers, whereas 25-year-old Sancho stands alone without a number on the team list or in the Carrington locker room.
Amrabat publicly said this week that if some transfers fail after the window closes, the club might reintegrate those players, but this applies only to Garnacho and Antony, excluding Sancho.
Romano explained, "Regarding Sancho, the message from United is clear: he won’t return to the squad. Sancho himself doesn’t want to come back, so their relationship is completely broken. United had accepted Roma’s offer, which included a loan with an obligation to buy, but the player refused and is unwilling to negotiate further with Roma, not opening the door to a transfer."
Romano concluded, "So, let’s see what happens next, but it’s certain that Sancho remains one of the players who must leave United in the final days of the summer window due to the total breakdown in relations with the club."
Though away from the pitch, Sancho is enjoying life off it. Recently, he was spotted at a tattoo parlor with his American rapper girlfriend Saweetie, tattooing "Quiava," her real name, under her ear. Witnesses revealed the couple shared passionate kisses inside the shop. Previously, the singer attended Sancho’s Chelsea match live, where he ran to the sidelines to embrace her.
