The AFC extended congratulations to the Vietnam U20 Women's National Team and thanked the VFF for organizing the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Qualifying round.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has just sent a congratulatory letter to the Vietnam U20 Women's National Team after they topped Group B in the qualifiers and officially secured a spot in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Finals, which will be held in Thailand.
In the letter, the AFC highlighted the determination and dedication shown by the Vietnam U20 Women's players throughout the qualifiers, contributing to an impressive achievement for Vietnamese youth women's football. Along with their congratulations, the AFC sincerely thanked the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for successfully hosting Group B qualifiers from August 6th to August 10th, 2025 in Hanoi.
The AFC highly appreciated the commitment, professionalism, and thorough preparations in organizing and managing the tournament, as well as the warm hospitality extended to AFC officials and participating teams. At the end of the letter, the AFC once again wished the Vietnam U20 Women's National Team continued success and looked forward to seeing them at the AFC U20 Women's Asian Finals in April 2026.
Vietnam's U20 women displayed outstanding form in the AFC U20 Women's Asian qualifiers, winning every match against Singapore U20, Hong Kong U20, and Kyrgyzstan U20. Their performance was remarkable, scoring 14 goals and conceding none.
Other teams that remained unbeaten in the qualifiers alongside Vietnam U20 Women included DPR Korea, South Korea, Australia, China, Japan, and China. The most impressive team in the qualifiers was DPR Korea U20 Women, who are the reigning AFC U20 Women's Asian and U20 Women's World champions. They won all three matches, scored 36 goals, and did not concede a single goal.
The 12 teams qualifying for the finals include host Thailand, the eight group winners—DPR Korea, Vietnam, Australia, India, China, Japan, Uzbekistan, and South Korea—along with the three best runners-up: Jordan, Bangladesh, and Chinese Taipei.
