WTT Swedish Grand Slam women's singles round of 16 is set, two Chinese players eliminated & Wang Manyu dominates, while Japan remains undefeated.

On August 20th Beijing time, the WTT Swedish Grand Slam women's singles 1/16 finals began with eight matches already completed. The Chinese team faced some setbacks, with Qian Tianyi and He Zhuojia eliminated. Wang Manyu, Shi Xunyao, Wang Yidi, and Kuai Man all advanced to the last 16, while Japan has maintained a perfect record so far!

A total of nine Chinese players competed in the women's singles at this event, demonstrating the strength of the team with the goal of sweeping the championship. In the first round, they impressed by advancing to the last 32 with all players winning, but the 1/16 finals brought challenges, as Qian Tianyi and He Zhuojia were knocked out, leaving Kuai Man, Wang Manyu, Wang Yidi, and Shi Xunyao moving forward!

Wang Manyu faced Diaz and held a commanding advantage throughout the match, maintaining control and powerfully defeating her opponent in straight sets, 3-0, to reach the last 16. The scores for the three games were 11-5, 11-3, and 11-6, making it a very comfortable win!

Wang Yidi played against Zeng Jian. This match was also straightforward, with Wang Yidi showing superior skills and dominance, powering through to a 3-0 victory. She advanced to the last 16 without breaking a sweat, with game scores of 11-3, 11-5, and 11-7!

Shi Xunyao took on Huang Yihua. Shi Xunyao narrowly clinched the first game 12-10, then found her rhythm and powered through the next two games 11-4 and 11-3, sweeping her opponent 3-0 to secure a spot in the last 16!

Kuai Man and He Zhuojia battled in an all-Chinese derby. Kuai Man started slowly and lost the first game 9-11, but then mounted a strong comeback, winning the next three games 11-9 each to turn the match around 3-1. Kuai Man’s handling of crucial points was truly impressive!

Qian Tianyi faced Hashimoto Honoka. Hashimoto played exceptionally well, while Qian Tianyi couldn’t showcase her strengths and was overwhelmed on the court. She quickly fell behind, losing three consecutive games 6-11, 2-11, and 7-11, suffering a comprehensive defeat!

With these results, eight spots in the women's singles round of 16 are now filled. China has four players advancing, Japan has three, and the remaining spot was taken by Zhu Yuling. Next, Shi Xunyao and Kuai Man will battle for a quarterfinal place, Wang Yidi faces Hashimoto Honoka, who previously defeated her and will be seeking revenge. Zhu Yuling will play against Japan’s Otomo Sayuki, and Wang Manyu will face Nagasaki Miyu from Japan, with China-Japan clashes happening frequently!
