The most outstanding player left a remarkable impression on Vietnamese football fans.

Holly Furphy, the striker, shared her appreciation for Vietnamese fans, noting how they always showed up in large numbers to support the games at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship.

The 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship concluded successfully. Beyond the intense battles on the pitch, the tournament was also highlighted by the vibrant atmosphere created by Vietnamese fans in the stands.

In the final between Australia and Myanmar, even though the home team was not playing, many fans stayed behind to support both visiting teams. The tournament's best player, Holly Furphy, spoke about her impression of Vietnamese supporters:

"It's truly wonderful to see fans coming out to support football. I know Vietnam wasn't playing in this match, but they still showed up and cheered for the tournament. Even during the semi-finals, their passion for football was clear. Playing in front of such a large crowd is amazing. It's a dream come true. I've always wanted to compete in this kind of atmosphere, and today was truly special,", she shared after the final match.

Previously, Thailand's leading sports daily Siam Sport expressed surprise and a bit of "envy" when more than 25,000 fans came to support the Vietnamese women's team during their group stage match against Thailand.

“Fans flocked to watch the match between the Vietnamese and Thai women's national teams on August 12, making it one of the most highly attended games in the tournament's history.”, the newspaper reported.

After the tournament ended, the Vietnam Football Federation expressed its sincere gratitude to Vietnamese football fans, especially Hai Phong supporters, for always standing by the women's national team in every match.

"Every match played by the team at Lach Tray Stadium saw packed stands, creating a lively atmosphere that energized the players. Additionally, the support and attention from viewers watching from home provided tremendous encouragement, helping the team remain confident and give their best effort.

Every cheer, every national flag, and every heartfelt message became a powerful motivation for the Golden Star Women Warriors to fight with all their heart and passion," stated the Vietnam Football Federation.
