BLG Successfully Advances to the Global Pioneers Tournament

In the LPL playoffs, BLG defeated JDG 3-2, securing a spot in the finals and also becoming the first LPL team to qualify for the Global Pioneers Tournament.

Looking back at BLG's journey this season, it has indeed been a source of anxiety for many BLG fans. In the first and third games, despite having massive leads, BLG players showed disrespect to their opponents, allowing JDG to stage comebacks and win. Jungler Xun and support ON received the most criticism, as their in-game discipline is notably poor, and Xun's Smite usage has disappointed many LPL fans. Many believe that unless BLG addresses these discipline issues, they will never win a world championship.

BLG certainly had standout moments in their victory over JDG, most notably the players' laning prowess and deep champion pools. For example, top laner Bin often built an economic lead of over a thousand gold during the laning phase against JDG's XiaoXu. Additionally, BLG's draft strategy kept JDG guessing, especially in the decisive game where support ON's pick of Anivia made its LPL debut, earning praise from viewers for his "innovative play." Pioneers Tournament Rules Tailor-Made for BLG?

With BLG advancing to the Global Pioneers Tournament, many LPL fans have begun to worry that BLG might suffer an upset due to their discipline issues, especially after last year's Worlds where underestimating opponents led to a Round of 16 exit. However, Riot Games recently revealed a piece of news favorable to BLG. This year's Global Pioneers Tournament will feature a double-elimination group stage with BO5 matches. This means even if BLG loses a match due to overconfidence, they will still have room for error. Under these rules, BLG is almost guaranteed a spot in the knockout stage.

Although fans are concerned about BLG's overconfident playstyle, coach Dan stated in a post-match interview that he actually likes BLG's competitive style. He believes having visible flaws is a good thing for BLG, as it allows them to grow and improve faster. Many BLG fans agree with Coach Dan's perspective, reasoning that it's better for BLG to lose in the domestic league than at the Pioneers Tournament.
