VCTCN: Three-pointers were enough! WOL mounts a 10-point comeback to eliminate NOVA 2-1

In the 2026 VCTCN Qualifier losers bracket first round, WOL overcame NOVA 2-1, moving on to face TE in the next round, while NOVA was eliminated after three consecutive defeats.

In the first half, jowa opened with a triple kill leading his team to win the pistol round. In round 3, NOVA successfully retook B site.

In round 4, OBONE smoked and eliminated Autumn and yosemite, then pushed forward to take down Xiaochun. WOL’s attempt on A failed, forcing a mid rotation, but NOVA caught them in a pincer attack and eliminated them.

NOVA won three consecutive rounds. In round 6, WOL took out three NOVA players at A second floor, leaving GuanG and Green to wisely save their weapons.

Round 7 saw WOL rushing B site; after securing the site, they held off NOVA’s retake, quickly eliminating the defenders.

In round 8, jowa aggressively caught NOVA’s forward push on A, achieving a triple kill with one shot each.

Round 9 was NOVA’s eco round, but GuanG’s righteous play on A site secured a triple kill, turning the tide.

NOVA ended the first half with four straight rounds, leading 7-5 over WOL.

In the second half, NOVA won the pistol round. In round 15, WOL’s bonus round was crushed by NOVA’s mid double flank, wiping out WOL’s defense and rotations.

In round 17, Autumn’s Sage wall failed to connect, allowing NOVA to catch his position and rotate to B site. NOVA accelerated their attack, wiping out WOL’s defense except Autumn, who held the sniper and scored a triple kill against the approaching NOVA players attempting to disarm.

NOVA went on a six-round winning streak in the second half, securing the victory on their pick, Fracture.

In the first half, yosemite exploded with a four-kill opening, leading WOL to win the pistol round. In round 3, NOVA’s bonus round, GuanG secured an ACE on B site. Round 7 was a save round for NOVA, who rushed A point to win a chaotic fight and completed a comeback. In round 9, NOVA misread information, thinking C site was empty, but Xiaochun held C site and scored a four-kill to defeat NOVA.

Xiaochun delivered a four-kill at C site, defeating NOVA.

NOVA called two timeouts in the first half to adjust but still failed to score on offense. WOL went on a four-round winning streak, finishing the half with 9 points while NOVA only had 3.

In the second half, WOL won the pistol round and their bonus round, aggressively holding B site to eliminate NOVA’s defense. WOL’s four-round streak secured the victory on their pick, Pearl.

In the first half, WOL won the pistol round. In round 3, OBONE’s triple kill on A site stopped WOL’s attack.

NOVA went on a four-round winning streak. In round 7, both teams unleashed Killjoy’s ultimate at B site. Despite WOL’s weaker weapons, their retake in the chaotic fight succeeded in a comeback.

In round 8, Green held B site against WOL’s attack, scoring a four-kill to defeat WOL again.

Round 11 saw WOL’s five righteous ultimates storm A short, trading four for three kills, leaving Xiaofei barely alive and unable to operate effectively. NOVA’s retake succeeded in defusing and winning the round.

In round 12, WOL threw their utility to enter the site but failed to hold it. Sova’s ultimate “Hunter’s Fury” stopped their push, and yosemite’s flank only caught one player. NOVA led 9-3 at halftime.

In the second half, heybay won the pistol round with a clear position, eliminating four WOL defenders. In round 14, WOL’s swarm team completed a comeback. NOVA’s utility combo caught Autumn at B site’s backline, but GuanG’s slide was countered by Autumn’s swift response, securing the round for WOL.

In round 16, after planting at B site, NOVA used Raze’s ultimate to push WOL’s players in the small path back and successfully eliminated them.

WOL chased back five rounds. In round 22, NOVA used lots of utility but Xiaofei’s Hunter’s Eye revealed everything. WOL tied the score.

In round 23, Autumn held firm to stop NOVA’s first wave at B site, then three WOL players’ retake secured the match point.

WOL scored 10 straight rounds in the second half, powered by Autumn and Xiaofei’s efforts, completing a stunning comeback to win Breeze 13-11.
