KT Rolster’s head coach Score openly acknowledged the flaws.
During the Super Week of the 2026 LCK Cup, KT Rolster was sadly eliminated after losing to Nongshim RedForce by a score of 2-3. Although they managed to tie the series after trailing by two games, KT could not maintain their advantage in the final match. After the game, coach Go Dong-bin (Score) straightforwardly pointed out the reasons.
According to Score, the loss was due to multiple combined factors. “We failed in everything from champion picks to early game execution. There were too many imperfect plays, which caused difficulties throughout the Bo5 series,” he shared. The KT coach admitted the opponent was better prepared and capitalized well on crucial moments.
In the first two games, KT quickly fell behind as Nongshim controlled the bottom lane and major objectives effectively. However, adjustments in games 3 and 4 – especially creating space in the mid lane – helped KT regain their rhythm and even the score. “We won because the mid lane applied good pressure, opening up opportunities for the whole team,” Score commented.
Nevertheless, in the final game, previous weaknesses resurfaced. According to Bdd, the team composition failed to leverage strengths in key lanes, making it hard for KT to execute their desired strategy. “Some lanes were prioritized well, but others were put in difficult positions. Overall, we were outmatched in terms of strength,” Bdd explained.
In conclusion, coach Score apologized to fans for the underwhelming performance at the LCK Cup. He emphasized that the season is still long and KT will use this defeat as data for improvement. “We will work harder to deliver better matches moving forward,” Score affirmed.
The loss to Nongshim served as a warning for KT Rolster but also an opportunity for the team to adjust and come back stronger in the remainder of the season.
