In the 2025 League of Legends World Championship semifinals, KT triumphed over GEN 3-1, advancing to the S15 finals!

Game One

GEN: Sion, Vi, Taliyah, Corki, Rakan
KT: Rumble, Jarvan, Yone, Caitlyn, Neeko
At the start of the match, within 3 minutes, KT’s mid-jungle duo successfully ambushed and killed Chovy’s Taliyah. At 13 minutes, GEN’s trio eliminated KT’s Caitlyn. Then at 15 minutes during the Rift Herald fight, GEN killed KT’s support Neeko and secured the Rift Herald. Both teams focused on farming and macro play early on, with no major team fights over jungle objectives, mainly trading resources based on lane control.
At 17 minutes during the dragon fight, Canyon’s Vi initiated decisively with vision control, followed by teammates chaining damage and crowd control. GEN secured a 3-for-0 exchange and took the dragon. At 20 minutes on the top side, KT launched a surprise attack killing Kiin’s Sion. At 23 minutes during another dragon fight, KT retaliated by killing four GEN members, earning a dragon soul advantage.
At 27 minutes, Canyon’s Vi ult opened the team fight, GEN positioned themselves at the jungle entrance to output damage, and together they wiped out four KT players, allowing GEN to take Baron. GEN pushed down KT’s outer turrets on all three lanes using minion waves.

At 34 minutes near the base, both teams traded evenly with a 4-for-4 team fight, after which KT secured the Earth Dragon soul. Later, during the Baron contest, Canyon flanked and took down KT’s Rumble, giving GEN the initiation advantage. GEN defeated KT and secured Baron. Using the Baron buff, GEN pressured the base, but at 40 minutes Bdd decisively engaged, killing Chovy and Kiin, enabling KT to defend their base. KT then took both the Elder Dragon and Baron.

In the late game, GEN lacked sufficient damage to contend with KT’s three late-game carries and their double dragon buff push. With constant minion waves pressuring two lanes, GEN opted to engage defensively, but their direct damage output was no match. Ultimately, KT defeated GEN and won the first game.
Game Two

GEN: Aphelios, Xin Zhao, Galio, Ezreal, Nautilus
KT: Rek’Sai, Qiyana, Ryze, Varus, Alistar
At 3 minutes, Canyon ganked mid and killed Bdd. During the dragon fight, GEN positioned first, but KT contested fiercely, trading 2-for-4 kills though failing to secure the dragon. Both duos rotated to the top lane, where the junglers supported the fight. Ruler’s Ezreal scored two kills in the skirmish.
At 15 minutes during the Rift Herald fight, KT’s four-man squad was completely overwhelmed, with Ruler’s Ezreal securing a triple kill. Later, KT took the dragon and killed three GEN players, turning the tide from the earlier Rift Herald disadvantage. At 22 minutes, KT secured another dragon. A river team fight resulted in a 4-for-4 exchange, leaving only the top laners alive.

GEN rushed to secure Elder Dragon first, and at 28 minutes, the dragon respawned. Peter’s Alistar was killed by Ezreal, and GEN took both the dragon and Baron. GEN pushed down the bottom lane outer turret and then secured the Water Dragon soul. In the late game, Ruler’s Ezreal damage was overwhelming, making it difficult for KT to win direct fights, and GEN won the second game.
Game Three

KT: Kha’Zix, Poppy, Kassadin, Ashe, Lulu
GEN: Aatrox, Pyke, Orianna, Sivir, Leona
The first blood didn’t happen until 12 minutes, when KT caught and killed Chovy’s Orianna, then took the dragon. Bdd caught Chovy twice more—once solo in lane and once with top lane assistance. At 15 minutes during the Rift Herald fight, KT achieved a 3-for-0 exchange and used the Herald to destroy GEN’s mid tier 1 turret.

At 21 minutes, KT’s Ashe ultimate caught Chovy, who was then killed with teammate damage. KT secured the Elder Dragon soon after. KT’s lead kept growing; at 23 minutes, they took the Alchemist Dragon soul and wiped GEN’s team in a fight. With a huge advantage, KT killed GEN’s mid and jungle at 26 minutes, took Baron, and decisively won the third game.
Game Four

GEN: Yorick, Skarner, Anivia, Lucian, Braum
KT: Ornn, Dr. Mundo, Cassiopeia, Kalista, Renata Glasc
At 8 minutes during the Broodmother fight, GEN positioned first and killed two Broodlings. Bdd’s Cassiopeia cleared mid wave and arrived to petrify three enemies, but the fight ended in a 1-for-1 trade with Ruler’s Lucian barely escaping. At 10 minutes during the dragon fight, Canyon secured the dragon with Smite, but GEN lost the fight, with their support and ADC killed by KT.

At 15 minutes during the Rift Herald fight, KT won again, with Kalista getting a double kill and securing the Herald. KT then made a critical mistake losing the Herald, allowing GEN to rush the Elder Dragon. KT defended in team fights, killing Canyon and Ruler, and secured both the Elder Dragon and dragon.
At 26 minutes when the dragon respawned, KT took the Alchemist Dragon soul and immediately transitioned to Baron, quickly securing it. KT then initiated a fight where Ornn knocked up three enemies, resulting in GEN’s bottom lane duo dying. This Baron empowered push only took down GEN’s mid lane outer turret. In the Elder Dragon team fight, KT secured the Elder Dragon and wiped GEN’s entire team, winning the match and advancing to the S15 finals.
