Hello to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Hub.
The S15 World Championship Swiss stage is currently ongoing. In yesterday’s advancement round, TES was decisively beaten 2-0 by GEN, who advanced smoothly to the top eight with this win.

TES, after achieving two consecutive wins, then suffered two losses in a row and will be sent to the final do-or-die round.
The biggest embarrassment in LPL: TES’s shameful twelve-game losing streak.
In yesterday’s match against GEN, TES was utterly powerless to resist. From the draft perspective, Homme did his best, picking very solid lineups in both games, even ahead of the opponent, yet TES was still easily controlled and couldn’t secure a win.

All five roles were completely outclassed by the opponent; their teamfight execution, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and game reading were all thoroughly outperformed. Honestly, TES fought hard, but simply couldn’t overcome their rivals.
After this match, TES’s humiliating record reached a new low—since last year’s World Championship knockout stage through this year’s Swiss stage, TES has faced LCK teams five times at Worlds, lost every single match, and failed to win even one game, suffering a 12-game losing streak.

It started with a 0-3 sweep by T1 in last year’s quarterfinals, then a 0-4 loss to HLE in this year’s preseason event, followed by a 0-2 defeat against KT in the Swiss stage advancement round.
This international performance has undoubtedly become the biggest joke of the LPL region.
Missing a great chance to advance, TES now faces the risk of elimination.
In my opinion, TES’s match against KT in the third round was their best opportunity to qualify. Even if they couldn’t advance, they should have fought hard to win at least one game. Unfortunately, TES played that BO3 extremely poorly, including the infamous “jungler throwing” strategy where they invaded the enemy jungle and gave away kills unnecessarily.

Had TES capitalized on that round against KT, they might have already secured a quarterfinal spot.
However, it’s clear that TES’s actual strength this S season is likely near the bottom of the top eight. Now, after losing to GEN, TES faces a huge risk of elimination.
In the final round, assuming BLG and T1 both have 2-2 records, the chance that T1 will face an LPL team is 2/3, since T1 has already played FLY and CFO, leaving TES, BLG, or MKOI as possible opponents.

Commentator Huainan also analyzed the final round, estimating a 1/6 chance for an LPL internal match, while the probability of FLY facing CFO is relatively high. Under normal draw conditions, a China-Korea matchup is highly likely. Many viewers have asked if the organizers can arrange the draw to avoid matches like BLG vs. T1, but even with such arrangements, it’s impossible to completely prevent China-Korea clashes or internal matches.
The best-case scenario for LPL: T1 draws MKOI.
From the perspective of Riot and the LPL organizers, the most desirable final round matchup would be T1 versus MKOI, with BLG and TES facing FLY or CFO. This way, both T1 and the two LPL teams have a chance to advance. Without draw manipulation, this scenario is hard to achieve. Even if T1 and MKOI are drawn first, an LPL internal match could still occur.

A reasonable plan would be to arrange a China-Korea clash to maximize viewership, especially BLG vs. T1. However, the organizers might reject such a matchup, which could lead to TES facing T1 and being sacrificed.
Overall, given the current situation, the LPL region might have to rely on BLG to step up. TES seems somewhat unreliable now. If BLG can return to their playoff form, they might still compete against the LCK teams in the upcoming knockout stages. If not, the region will likely have to depend on AL’s performance.

Regardless of which LPL team performs well, GEN has basically secured the top favorite spot for the championship. As long as GEN maintains their form, they are nearly unbeatable against any opponent, appearing almost unstoppable.
