VCT: coconut unleashed full firepower, every shot lethal, XLG defeats SEN 2-1

In the 2025 Valorant Champions Tour group stage A bracket losers' round first match, XLG knocked out SEN 2-1. XLG will battle GX in the next round for the last spot to advance from group A.

Map One: Hollow Depths

Defending team XLG: Yelu, Jiefeng, Xinghe, Liexiao, Youying

Attacking team SEN: Liexiao, Jiefeng, K/O, Xinghe, Youying

In the first half, SEN won the pistol round. In round 3, SEN accelerated to site A, where Viva hid behind smoke and secured three back-to-back kills to win the bonus round. In round 5, Viva exploded again, defending site B with a triple kill. Round 8 saw a chaotic fight at site B, which XLG won. In round 11, XLG’s eco round, Rarga played heroically at site B by eliminating two enemies, then happywei’s Youying teleported to site B and held the defense with teammates. Half-time score: XLG 5 - 7 SEN.

In the second half, SEN took the pistol round. In round 14, XLG attacked site A, and happywei’s Youying executed a perfect flank, wiping out SEN’s defenders, leading XLG to a three-round winning streak to tie the score. In round 19, happywei and coconut, two against three, defended successfully, eliminating all SEN defenders. After a timeout in round 22, SEN returned to defend site A and cleared XLG attackers. In the match point round 23, SEN held site B against XLG’s assault and claimed victory on map one.

Map Two: Lotus Ancient City

Defending team SEN: Viper, Raze, Viss, Youying, Heimeng

Attacking team XLG: Sage, Steel Lock, Youying, Heimeng, Zero

In the first half, SEN won the pistol round. Rarga quickly located and took down two opponents in consecutive rounds, giving his team a numbers advantage. After securing the bonus round, XLG went on a four-round winning streak. In round 7, XLG attempted to rush site C but was held back by zellsis’s Viss, and zekken’s defense at the spike site secured a five-kill round to win. XLG then extended their streak to five rounds, finishing the half with 9 points while SEN had only 3.

In the second half, SEN won the pistol round. In round 15, zellsis made a crucial double kill through B main, breaking XLG’s defense, and SEN took five consecutive rounds. In round 18, XLG successfully took site A, catching three SEN players, then coconut secured a triple kill to eliminate the rotating SEN players and win the round. XLG achieved a three-round winning streak to reach match point. SEN fought back with three rounds starting from round 21, but in round 24, XLG defended site C successfully and clinched map two.

Map Three: Hidden Sanctuary

Defending team SEN: Viper, Neon, Qile, Youying, Liexiao

Attacking team XLG: Neon, Qile, Youying, Liexiao, Viper

XLG won the pistol round in the first half, while SEN took the bonus round and then three consecutive rounds. In round 6, XLG attacked site B and used Viper’s poison cloud to secure their third point. After a timeout, XLG calmly took two more rounds. In round 10, zekken used Sentinel to kill three at site C; with only two players left, XLG rotated to site A to plant the spike but were eliminated. In round 11, Rarga coordinated with teammates to clear site A instantly and win the round. Half-time score: XLG 7 - 5 SEN.

At the start of the second half, XLG failed to win two consecutive clutch rounds, allowing SEN to take the pistol round and tie the score. In round 15, XLG secured the bonus round by pincer attacking and holding site C. XLG then won three rounds in a row. SEN called a timeout and returned to win site A in round 18. In round 19, Noman and Rarga patiently held garage and site C, securing the round. XLG swept the last three rounds to win map three, eliminating SEN and advancing to the next stage.
