Jiejie was eliminated immediately after his comeback! FPX misses the playoffs, Jiejie: I didn’t perform well, sorry everyone.

During the LPL’s third stage, Knights’ Road, FPX was defeated 2-3 by NIP and missed the playoffs. They had brought in jungler Jiejie on short notice near the end of the regular season, but the playoff loss to NIP meant a harsh exit. Jiejie’s return this season was short-lived, and it remains unclear if he will stay with FPX for the next season.

After the match, FPX’s official Weibo exploded. The coach was heavily criticized, with many fans angrily saying: banning 3 AD champions but not picking one themselves, even giving the enemy the only major carry, Jinx, while choosing Caitlyn who is considered weaker than Xayah! However, some fans defended the coach, noting that Xayah started 5-0, and if this were the Xayah played by leave, the game would likely have been won by 20 minutes. The strong early advantage showed the lineup was fine, but they threw the game later. Some fans also harshly criticized the players, blaming the mid laner and calling the jungler terrible.

After the game, LPL official commentators MacT and Rita discussed FPX’s loss. They believed that in almost every match, Jwei had a great early game, leading the team to an advantage, but in the mid-to-late stages, they kept making mistakes and giving opportunities away. This was a recurring problem from the regular season and happened again in this match. FPX often played well early on but then faltered. Their draft phase was also problematic — after banning three AD champions, they didn’t pick an AD themselves, allowing the opponent to secure one first, which led to this “red breaking blue” scenario.

In a post-match interview, when asked about his time with FPX, Jiejie admitted: I feel regretful. I came to FPX hoping to go further in the Knights’ Road, but I didn’t perform well in this match. I’m sorry to everyone.

Overall, Jiejie’s comeback performance was disappointing; he failed to prove his strength through his gameplay. In the BO5 against NIP, aside from a decent first game, he made mistakes almost every match and inexplicably gave away major momentum multiple times. It’s unclear if the long break affected him, but he didn’t show the leadership everyone expected. On the other hand, FPX’s best performer was support Jwei, who had excellent mechanics and early game rhythm. Unfortunately, a support’s impact is limited. With the year-end transfer window approaching, Jwei might become highly sought after, while Jiejie’s recent performance will likely raise many doubts. Honestly, this comeback can be considered a failure.
