BLG fans deliberately smearing IG is truly exasperating.

After IG easily defeated BLG and claimed second place in the LPL regular season, many IG fans celebrated with champagne. Several admitted that if IG hadn’t been defeated by FPX, they would have qualified to fight for first place in the regular season. Some even dreamed about IG advancing to the World Championship. Considering IG’s current form, no LPL team can really challenge them. Both TES and AL have significant weaknesses, while IG’s performance this season has been unbeatable: they can turn around early disadvantages and dominate when ahead early.

While IG’s reputation was rising externally, many BLG fans began spreading rumors that TheShy’s fans lack integrity. The incident started when, before BIN’s match against TheShy, a fan held up a sign containing personal insults directed at BIN. Many BLG fans thought this audience member was disrespectful, and one BLG fan claimed the sign-holder was an IG fan. After this rumor spread, numerous BLG fans criticized TheShy and his supporters, accusing them of double standards—on one hand, they scorned Xuan Shen and called TheShy a “horse head,” while on the other hand, they engaged in such petty acts.

As the external pressure grew, the sign-holder finally spoke up, revealing that they have been a loyal BIN fan for ten years. Before BIN joined BLG, they liked him, and BIN knew them personally. Every time they attended a match, BIN would interact and chat with them. The sign-holding style has been their tradition for many years. They clarified that they are not an IG fan, and the sign was not meant as an insult but rather a unique way to engage with BIN.

After learning the truth, many TheShy fans finally pushed back against some BLG fans. Several TheShy supporters stated that BLG’s poor reputation is self-inflicted. Previously, when BLG criticized jungler WEI, many BLG fans at the venue shouted “astonishing rebirth” for WEI, while their affiliated streamers also kept stirring up talk about WEI. Judging by their attitude toward WEI, BLG is arguably the least respectable team in the LPL. Many viewers even said BLG has united the entire LPL, as any team that can beat BLG is considered strong.

Viewers who watched this BO3 clearly saw that the biggest contributor to IG’s victory over BLG was top laner TheShy. No matter how disadvantaged TheShy was early on, he could take on five opponents in mid-to-late team fights. Especially in the first game, despite TheShy’s Rumble having a 1/4 score early, he ended up with the highest damage output in the match. Many TheShy fans believe he once again brought BIN back down to earth. However, what frustrated many TheShy fans was BIN’s post-match claim that his performance was not worse than TheShy’s and that he made few mistakes. BIN’s audacious remarks left many IG fans speechless.

Besides BIN’s dissatisfaction with TheShy, BLG’s coach also expressed displeasure with IG after the match. The BLG coach admitted that although their BP lost the BO3, the players’ form and tactics were successful. He hopes to meet IG again in the playoffs to show BLG’s true strength. Personally, I’m looking forward to BLG facing IG in the playoffs because some BLG fans still criticize WEI’s abilities and claim his champion pool is limited.
