Today, King’s Arena announced a new limited-time mode called Spark Journey, which is basically a 6V6V6 naval battle. From the official details shared, this could be the most engaging and creative limited-time mode among all the Three Realms updates. Let’s take a closer look.

Gameplay Introduction

In simple terms, each match involves 18 players divided into three teams of 6V6V6. Players in each team pair up to operate a warship together, handling both attacking enemies and steering the ship. The battle takes place on a vast sea where teams can attack each other. Defeated players drop tokens, and the first team to collect 100 points wins.

Gameplay Features

Various combat skills. Since this is a naval battle with ship control, heroes cannot use their usual skills. Therefore, the designers created brand-new combat skills tailored for the naval setting, divided into ship skills and offensive skills. Additionally, each of the three teams has exclusive faction skills, though their exact effects are still unknown. These will surely influence the battle dynamics, encouraging more intense clashes between players.

Upgradable warships. The sea contains various resources that players can collect to upgrade their ships. Upgraded ships gain stronger attributes such as increased cannon damage, faster movement speed, improved durability, and expanded vision range. This adds a nurturing element to gameplay, making it more diverse. Players must balance between gathering resources to upgrade and attacking enemies to seize tokens.

Three special mechanics. First, whirlpools randomly appear on the sea; once caught inside, players cannot escape on their own and will be defeated if trapped. Second, a neutral faction called the Jin Fan Fleet appears, which players can attack to quickly gain resources, helping their ships catch up or pull ahead—essentially a contested resource pack. Third, when one team’s score nears victory, the other two teams form an alliance to fight together. This is similar to the “Bloody Battle at Huarong Path” mechanic, requiring cooperation against a common enemy while staying alert for betrayal.

Overall, this mode is quite fun and worth trying. It will officially launch on September 11. To encourage players to try it, a recall effect called “Traveling Together” and a Surprise Magic Box are offered as rewards. Although the recall effect isn’t newly designed but reused from before, it’s still a valuable prize for those who don’t have it.
