Whoever controls the mid and support roles rules the game; in KPL dynasty teams, the mid-support duo is always the most outstanding!

Following AG Super Play’s six consecutive titles, numerous fans compared them to the eStar "dynasty" period. In fact, whether it’s eStar Dynasty or AG Dynasty, one thing stands out — the mid-support duo is the most dominant part of the team!

These two exclusive KPL dynasty teams have almost identical templates, both relying on a mid-support pair. Interestingly, both teams’ mid-support combos play an assassin-style, with flawless mechanics and keen awareness, moving like ghosts. Back then, it was eStar’s Qingrong and Ziyang; now it’s AG’s Changsheng and Dashuai!

In contrast, the side lane, jungle, and marksmen in these two dynasties often seem to win matches or even FMVPs by riding the momentum created by the mid-support duo. This isn’t to say that players like Tanran, Huahai, Yizheng, Xuanyan, Zhongyi, or Yinuo are not skilled — rather, the mid-support pair in dynasty teams usually shines so brightly that it overshadows the other three positions.

On the other hand, Wolf Team resembles a squad driven by extreme individual heroism. Previously, Fly led a one-versus-four in his prime finals, and more recently, Xiaopang has pulled off multiple clutch performances. Compared to them, players like Xiangyu, Yaodao, and Fanfan seem somewhat ordinary. Thus, this style tends to drain players’ momentum — after a big breakout, they need a cooldown period before the next. However, Xiaopang is unique; his peak performances in the 2022 Summer Finals and 2024 Spring Finals precisely interrupted the eStar and AG dynasties, but after those highs, Wolf Team began to decline.

Jiucheng and Xiaopang share a similar one-star, four-shooter playstyle. This approach is definitely less sustainable than the team-oriented styles of AG and eStar, who can flexibly switch formations like 3+2, 2+3, 5+0, or 3+1+1, whereas you’re stuck with 1+4. Moreover, dynasty teams require all five players to be aggressively offensive, with at least three playing assassin roles, unlike Wolf Team’s setup of one star with three or four supporting players.

Perhaps aware of this, Wolf Team adjusted their starting mid laner at the year-end finals. But without increasing pressure on the support role, Wolf Team will still only serve as AG’s "supporting cast"!

Everyone must have noticed that the buffed Cheng Yaojin has become a bit overpowered! So, how can you counter him? Nezha’s built-in grievous wounds effect, combined with purchasing a Red Lotus Cloak, can neutralize Cheng Yaojin’s prideful ultimate and reduce his healing. Additionally, Nezha deals burn damage, true damage, and true shielding. While not a perfect counter, surviving a long 300-round battle is feasible. As long as you can control and suppress Cheng Yaojin in lane, it’s manageable. If you can freeze the wave, secure more neutral resources, and widen the economic gap, your opponent will be in trouble.

Besides Nezha, these three heroes can also help counter Cheng Yaojin! Xiahou Dun has strong sustain and lane presence, allowing him to wear down opponents gradually. Later, he can serve as a frontline protector for your carry. Lian Po has damage reduction and sustain, making it tough for Cheng Yaojin to kill him quickly. Facing Lian Po might discourage opponents from even trying to fight. Late game, Lian Po boasts great durability and crowd control, excelling in team fights and counterattacks. Kuangtie’s tankiness, shields, and sustain make him a nuisance too. If conditions allow, bring a finisher for Cheng Yaojin, time it well, manage your health carefully, and use control plus finisher to take him down.
