Oh no, the Guangdong team is in trouble! The 2.26-meter center has suddenly requested a trade.

WOW, WOW.

Something significant has occurred, and it seems to be within expectations.

According to reports from prominent domestic media,Xu Xin has officially requested a trade from the Guangdong team, and many teams are keen on him. This 21-year-old center, who is 2.26 meters tall, has considerable value.

During the break of the Unity Cup competition at the end of July, Xu Xin had a verbal dispute with Du Feng, which created some waves on social media.

Later, when the entire Guangdong team was celebrating Du Feng's birthday, Xu Xin wanted to leave early but was pulled back by veteran Zhou Peng.

A well-known domestic basketball platform revealed that Xu Xin has apologized to Du Feng for the verbal conflict, and Du Feng encouraged him to keep pushing forward.

However, once certain events occur, it can create an unbreakable barrier.

Moreover, Xu Xin has not received adequate development within the Guangdong team, leading to a growth rate that is far below expectations. For instance, in the regular season, the specifics are as follows:

In the 21-22 season, he played 6 games with 1 start, averaging 8.2 minutes, 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks;

In the 22-23 season, he played 14 games all as a substitute, averaging 7.6 minutes, 2.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks;

In the 23-24 season, he played 38 games with 16 starts, averaging 12.8 minutes, 5.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks;

In the 24-25 season, he played 35 games with 3 starts, averaging 10.3 minutes, 4.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks.

If the Guangdong team truly sees Xu Xin as a future pillar in the paint, then it is concerning that after four seasons in the CBA, he still lacks guaranteed playing time as a substitute. Thus, his request for a trade stems from feeling "delayed," and the conflict with Du Feng was just the last straw.

Given the situation, the Guangdong team may need to seriously consider Xu Xin's trade request. If they truly lack confidence in developing him, it might be better to let him go and potentially exchange him for some assets, like cash, which is certainly better than having him sit on the bench.

Other media sources have indicated thatthe Guangdong team hopes to negotiate a trade with the Liaoning team, exchanging Xu Xin for Zhang Zhenlin.

Interestingly, Zhang Zhenlin could strengthen the traditionally weak small forward position for the Guangdong team, while Xu Xin would serve as the successor to the soon-to-retire veteran Han Dejun at Liaoning. However, if it were just a direct swap, Liaoning would clearly be at a disadvantage, and they might not even have any intention of trading this top-tier three-time All-Star forward.
