Kevin Love is expected to reach a buyout agreement with the Jazz soon! His preferred destinations have been revealed: either the Lakers or the Clippers.

On August 6th, according to Brett Siegel from Clutch Points, NBA veteran Kevin Love hopes to play for either the Los Angeles Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers next season. The Miami Heat have traded Love to the Utah Jazz. Love and the Jazz are set to finalize a buyout agreement shortly.

Love previously worked alongside Lakers star LeBron James on the Cavaliers, where they won the championship in 2016. Meanwhile, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue was the coach of that 2016 Cavaliers team.

“League sources indicate that Kevin Love ultimately wishes to land in Los Angeles,” Siegel wrote. “There were rumors that Love might be interested in New York, but the Knicks seem to have little interest in him.”

“Both the Clippers and the Lakers currently have one open roster spot. However, if the Lakers want to pursue Love and reunite him with LeBron, they will need to first offload another contract—since they are constrained by the hard salary cap of the first luxury tax line, and they are only $1.1 million away from that limit. The Clippers are in a similar situation, with just $1.2 million of space remaining before hitting the first luxury tax line hard cap.”

Last season, Love played 23 games for the Heat, averaging 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 35.7%, a three-point shooting percentage of 35.8%, and a free throw percentage of 69.6%.

The 36-year-old Love has previously played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cavaliers, and Heat. The UCLA graduate has averaged 16.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists over 952 NBA games in his career.
