The future of Giannis Antetokounmpo remains uncertain! Questions arise regarding the current roster's championship potential, and multiple teams are preparing offers for the Bucks.

Trade rumors surrounding Giannis have cooled in recent weeks, but the two-time MVP has yet to decide whether to stay with the Bucks. According to renowned reporter Shams on August 4, sources indicate that there is still no conclusion about whether Giannis will remain in Milwaukee or leave.

Previous reports indicated that Giannis might contemplate leaving the Bucks to improve his chances of securing at least one more championship. The Bucks were eliminated in the first round of this year's playoffs, and with star guard Damian Lillard suffering an Achilles tear (expected to miss the entire next season), speculation has intensified. Bucks general manager Jon Horst has reshaped the roster this summer in response: he waived Lillard and structured the remaining two years of his $112.6 million contract to free up salary space to sign center Myles Turner from the Pacers.

Additionally, Horst signed Gary Harris, Jericho Sims, and Cole Anthony in free agency and re-signed several of their own free agents, including Bobby Portis, Gary Trent Jr., Kevin Porter Jr., Ryan Rollins, and Torrey Craig.

The signing of Turner is viewed as a crucial step in demonstrating to Giannis that the Bucks can still remain competitive in the East. Although there have been few trade rumors over the past month, Shams emphasizes that the question of Giannis's future has not been resolved.

“In the past week or so, there have been some very serious conversations between the two sides,” Shams stated on the program, “but Giannis keeps asking one question: Can I win a championship with this roster? … He is eager for a second championship ring, which is why he keeps reiterating this question.”

Shams also added that if Giannis decides to leave the Bucks, “multiple teams are prepared” to make offers at any moment.

Last season, Giannis averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists, with a shooting percentage of 60.1%. He has three years remaining on his contract, with $54.1 million in the 2025-26 season, $58.5 million in the 2026-27 season, and a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season.
