3 + 3 + 3 + 3! The Chinese Basketball Association imposes the maximum penalty! The mixed-race player escapes a close call.

Fighting may feel good in the moment, but suspension is unavoidable.

Recently, in the U21 Youth Basketball League, a significant brawl took place between the Liaoning team and the Shandong team, prompting the Chinese Basketball Association to impose the maximum penalty, which is mainly as follows:

The Liaoning players Huang Qiushi and Zhang Junhao, along with Shandong players Yuan Shuai and Cui Jiahong, who initiated the conflict and were the first to act, are all suspended for three years (penalty period from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2028).

Three years, three years indeed! This will undoubtedly have a devastating impact on players whose professional careers are just beginning.

For at least the 25-26, 26-27, and 27-28 CBA seasons, we won’t see the presence of Huang Qiushi, Zhang Junhao, Yuan Shuai, and Cui Jiahong on the court.

It’s worth mentioning that Huang Qiushi and Zhang Junhao have long been registered players for the Liaoning men's basketball team, especially the latter, who has played two seasons in the CBA and is a key young guard being developed by the team. However, due to his impulsiveness, much has been ruined.

Many media personnel believe that the penalty imposed by the Chinese Basketball Association is excessively harsh and beyond imagination.

Some media have even devised paths for the four players facing a three-year suspension, suggesting that since there’s no place for them in domestic official competitions, they can only turn to other leagues, as follows:

1. Compete in the East Asian Super League;

2. Go to the United States to seek opportunities to play in the NCAA;

3. Head to Japan, where their domestic league has recently been keen on recruiting Chinese players.

In addition, the penalized players includeLiaoning team’s Xing Weihao, Liu Xingyan, Ge Hongming, Zhang Jiacheng, and Li Yaxuan, as well as Shandong team’s Qiu Xing, Ma Yandong, Xu He, Mi Jianrui, Peng Hongsan, Fang Yuhan, Chen Zihao, and Zhao Junhao, all 13 of whom are suspended for eight games—a relief for both clubs.

However, many fans are not pleased, particularly targeting Shandong's mixed-race player Peng Hongsan, who kicked others during the conflict and later boasted about it on his personal social media, yet he only received an eight-game suspension...

The good news is that according to Shandong’s intentions, they will not only fully comply with the Chinese Basketball Association's decision but will also impose additional penalties on the involved individuals, possibly including Peng Hongsan, as he gained the most notoriety in this incident.
