The dream chasers who dare to step out of their comfort zones are always commendable.
A well-known domestic basketball platform reports:Lin Wei has decided to compete in overseas leagues for the 25-26 season, with maximum support from the Tongxi team, which has already issued a clarification letter for him.
Previously, Lin Wei participated in the NBA G League International Player Draft, where he was selected 8th by the Dallas-affiliated Texas Legends, but it is uncertain if he will participate in the new season's G League. Several clubs, including those in the Australian NBL and the Japanese league, have extended offers to Lin Wei.
Whether in the G League or other high-level overseas leagues, as long as Lin Wei performs well, he still has the opportunity to attract attention and secure an NBA contract, thus realizing his long-awaited dream of entering the highest basketball hall of fame.
What is surprising is that Lin Wei did not participate in this year's NBA Summer League, considering that several teams, including the Mavericks, had shown interest in inviting him. Japanese player Kawamura Yuki successfully secured a two-way contract with the Bulls based on his performance in the Summer League.
To get back on track, at just 21 years old, Lin Wei is already one of the best rising stars in Chinese men's basketball and one of the strongest immediate assets. Last season, in his third year of professional play, he averaged 21 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in the regular season, while in the playoffs, he averaged a staggering 30.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 11 assists, and 1.5 steals.
Unfortunately, since Guo Shiqiang took over the Chinese men's basketball team, Lin Wei has only made it onto the training camp roster once, and since then, he has been unable to don the national team jersey again. This may be due to rumored conflicts or perhaps his playing style simply does not meet the previous coach's requirements; there has never been a clear answer.
With the Asian Cup journey about to begin, if the Chinese men's basketball team led by Guo Shiqiang fails to achieve good results, they will undoubtedly face criticism for not including Lin Wei or other competitive players.
Let's put aside further discussions for now; what we need to do is cheer and support the Chinese men's basketball team! This year, with a seriously incomplete lineup, it requires support from all sides!
