The Rockets have signed two players! G League MVP joins Houston as Durant leads the new 14+3 roster for a championship run.

On July 27, Beijing time, according to NBA.com, the Rockets have consecutively signed two players with two-way contracts, namely JD-Davison and Isaiah-Crawford. Currently, the Rockets have filled all three two-way contract slots, and the team is in a 14+3 roster configuration. Durant will lead the new lineup in pursuit of the championship.

JD-Davison is a guard who was waived by the Celtics. Last season, he excelled in the G League, averaging 25.6 points, 7.7 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals, with a shooting percentage close to 48%, ultimately earning the G League MVP title.

The Celtics executed Davison's team option for the 2025-26 season at the end of June, but this contract was fully non-guaranteed. By waiving Davison, the Celtics avoided taking on a salary burden of $2.27 million while successfully bringing their total salary back below the second luxury tax line. This adjustment granted the team more flexibility in trade negotiations during the offseason.

As for Isaiah-Crawford, he is a former Kings player. Previously, the Kings had rescinded their two-way qualification offer to forward Crawford, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Crawford went undrafted after graduating from Louisiana Tech University in July last year and subsequently signed a two-way contract with the Kings. The 23-year-old player has only appeared in 15 NBA games as a rookie, totaling just 46 minutes of playtime, but he was a key rotation player for the Stockton Kings in the G League. In 37 G League games, he averaged 31.5 minutes, contributing 13.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.2 steals, with shooting percentages of 47.1%, 40.1% from three-point range, and 78.9% from the free-throw line.
