Former trainer sues Clippers! Fired for complaining about the unsafe treatment of small cards, the team's response was unfounded

On October 25, Beijing time, according to NBA Haynes, former Clippers trainer Randy Shelton has sued the Clippers for wrongful termination, demanding compensation. Sheldon claimed that he was fired by the Clippers after receiving unsafe and illegal treatment for complaining about his injuries. The Clippers also responded immediately, believing that Sheldon's accusations were groundless.

In the indictment filed by Haynes, Shelton complained to Clippers management, alleging that they ignored Leonard's health and safety and known medical restrictions by treating Clippers star Leonard unsafely and illegally. Since then, Sheldon himself has been targeted, subjected to discrimination and harassment. Although the Clippers promised Shelton that they would protect him from retaliation, they did not do so. The Clippers quickly retaliated against Sheldon and terminated Shelton's employment.

In the indictment filing, Shelton also cited some of the Clippers' disregard for the Clippers' health.

For example, he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the second round of the 2021 playoffs and underwent surgery in July 2021 and missed the 2021-22 NBA season. Sheldon said the card has "had multiple previous injuries" and that his recovery goal should be 730 days, but the Clippers deemed the timeline "unacceptable."

For another example, Xiaoka's knee cartilage injury and ankle ligament problems also have problems, but the Clippers have improved his playing time for the sake of the record. For example, in December 2022, Xiaoka played an average of 32 minutes per game, which was increased to 35 minutes in January, 38 minutes per game in February, and even played 46 minutes against the Kings on February 24. Sheldon said the Clippers' disregard for the Clippers' health has intensified.

He also pointed out that when he showed symptoms of concussion, he was also ignored by the Clippers and let him continue playing. In March and April 2023, the Clippers ignored the advice of Shelton and other medical staff and continued to let the Clippers play more than the limit.

He is currently suffering from a knee injury and is out indefinitely, after Shams reported that he is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, and a Clippers reporter said he will not be back until at least December.

As one of Shelton's lawyers, John David also sent a statement to Haynes -

"We hope that our client's lawsuit will serve as a wake-up call for the Clippers to realize that their players are not just worth money, they are human beings and need proper — not rushed — health and rehabilitation to safeguard their careers and beyond."

Clippers officials also issued a statement to Haynes contesting the allegations.

"Mr. Shelton's allegations were investigated and found to be baseless. We respect Mr. Shelton's employment contract and pay him in full. The lawsuit is a belated attempt to blackmail the Clippers based on false allegations that Mr. Shelton should have known. ”
