Try again? The Warriors are the top favorites to get Marca: Last year, they made multiple first-round offers with Moody's +

On June 10, Beijing time, according to Jazz team reporter Todd, the team has been willing to listen to an offer for core Markkanen. His latest next odds are out, and the Warriors are the current favourites. The Warriors pursued Markkanen, who had not yet signed a contract extension last summer, when the offer was centered on Moody and multiple first-round picks, as well as some draft swaps and second-round picks.

Marca's latest odds ranking are as follows: 1. Warriors (+205), 2. Heat (+250), 3. Magic (+325), 4. Mavericks (+450), 5. Spurs (+650), 6. Thunder (+700), 7. Nets (+800).

The Jazz extended Markkanen to a five-year, $238 million contract last August, with four years left on his contract. $46.39 million for the 2025-26 season, $46.11 million for the 2026-27 season, $49.82 million for the 2027-28 season, and $53.53 million for the 2028-29 season, fully guaranteed, with no options.

Now, the Jazz are willing to listen to Marca's offer, but his market may not be as good as last year. After all, in the past year, both in physical condition and game performance, Marca has declined, and he feels unworthy of this new contract. In the 2024-25 season, Markkanen only played 47 games due to injury, averaging 19 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, shooting a career-low 42.3% from the field, and 34.6% from three-point range, the second-lowest performance of his career.

Obviously, compared to last year, Markkanen's reputation has dropped a lot. However, he is only 28 years old after all, and a change of environment may allow him to usher in a rebound. Previously, NBA reporter Jake Weinbach reported that teams such as the Heat, Pistons, 76ers and Spurs may also ask the Jazz about Markkanen this summer.
