Former NBA Slam Dunk Champion Isaiah Rider Arrested Again! Defies Court Order, Played for Five Teams Including Lakers

On July 27, Beijing time, TMZ Sports reported that former NBA player Isaiah Rider was again detained in Arizona for failing to adhere to a court directive.

According to Maricopa County jail records, Rider was arrested by police on Thursday evening and booked on Friday morning on charges of contempt of court. The misdemeanor charge has been upheld, and the former Slam Dunk champion is expected to be held until Tuesday.

Rider's latest legal troubles come just months after he was arrested twice for violating a restraining order filed by his estranged wife, Vanessa.

As previously reported by TMZ Sports, the former Lakers guard was arrested in December last year on charges of violating a restraining order, interfering with judicial proceedings.

A few days later, Rider was arrested again for missing a hearing to renew the restraining order. Vanessa attended the hearing, and the judge ultimately ruled to extend the order.

Rider previously denied Vanessa's allegations, claiming that she sought the restraining order only because he was moving forward with their divorce. Vanessa, however, stated that the order was purely to protect herself and their children from further harm.

As the 1994 Slam Dunk Contest champion, Rider's NBA career spanned five teams: the Timberwolves, Trail Blazers, Hawks, Lakers, and Nuggets. During his playing days, he was widely regarded as one of the most physically gifted players in the league.
