Lakers officially announce a signing and a release: Arthur Kaluma joins on a two-way contract and will wear No. 47, as the Purple and Gold's 16+3 new roster is revealed.

On July 22, Beijing time, the Los Angeles Lakers officially signed forward Arthur Kaluma to a two-way contract. In a corresponding move, the team waived two-way guard Peter Sude. Peter Sude had signed a two-way deal with the Lakers on July 4. Kaluma will wear the Lakers' No. 47 jersey in the new season.

Kaluma is 2.01 meters tall. In the 2025-26 season, he played 40 games (regular season and preseason tournament) for the Lakers' G League affiliate, coming off the bench, averaging 24.4 minutes, 13.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, with a three-point percentage of 37.8%.

During the regular season and preseason tournament, he scored in double figures in 29 games, including seven games with 20+ points. Kaluma helped the Lakers' G League team achieve a 26-10 record, secure the top seed in the West, and advance all the way to the G League Western Conference Finals.

The 24-year-old recently played for the Lakers in the California Classic Summer League and the Las Vegas Summer League. In a total of seven summer league games, he averaged 23 minutes, 17.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 51.6% and a three-point percentage of 44.8%.

In the five games of the Las Vegas Summer League, Kaluma averaged a team-high 18.6 points, leading the Lakers to a 4-0 record in group play and advancing to the semifinals of the tournament.

Over four years of college, Kaluma played in 134 games (131 starts) for the University of Texas (2024-25), Kansas State University (2023-24), and Creighton University (2021-23). He holds dual citizenship in the United States and Uganda, and has represented the Ugandan national team in international competitions.
