Fischer bluntly stated that, given the current situation, the Kings are not planning to welcome the future Hall of Famer back under any circumstances, meaning the odds of them teaming up again are very slim.

From a purely logical standpoint, the rumors are not unfounded. Rookie point guard Akuffo is about to begin his NBA career, and many believe Westbrook's experience and leadership could help the young player adapt to the professional league. However, the Kings have chosen to fully develop their rookie and are not counting on the former MVP veteran.

Westbrook's performance during his stint with the Kings last season actually exceeded expectations.
