Curry recruits James once again! The Warriors see themselves as dark horses, believing LeBron is likely to head to the East.

On July 16, Beijing time, Warriors star Stephen Curry again expressed his desire to bring LeBron James to Golden State. Yet, as reported by insider Spears, the Warriors' internal view is that they are only a dark horse, and the general consensus is that James will probably opt for an Eastern Conference team.

Curry believes that if James joins the Warriors as a free agent, it would be the "most perfect way" to end his NBA career.

During a visit to *Good Morning America* today, Curry was asked how he would recruit James. He replied: "The Bay Area knows how to win. The weather is great, the golf courses are excellent, and I know he loves that."

Curry continued: "We've played together on Team USA and faced off many times over the years. We both understand the game of basketball. I think he'd agree that ending his career in such a fulfilling way would mean a lot. He knows what he wants and will eventually make a decision. It's totally up to him. But we're having fun with it — honestly, he can pick any team in the league, so he can go wherever he wants."

When discussing Curry's role in LeBron's free-agent decision, Lakers reporter McMenamin said: "Obviously, Curry genuinely hopes to team up with LeBron. Maybe it's because he thinks there's actually a chance it could happen."

According to Shams, after LeBron James leaves the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors are one of five teams that could still sign him. He reported that the Timberwolves are also in the running, but James's top candidates are the Cavaliers, Heat, and 76ers.

Curry isn't the only Warriors star reaching out to James. In a recent podcast, Green revealed that he had already discussed this with James while they played golf together in Puerto Rico.

Green said: "I definitely wouldn't miss the chance to recruit him... I did talk to him, and I made a pretty compelling offer. I think I'm pretty good at pitching."

"Can I change the situation and make it happen? I'm not sure, but I'm hopeful. The things I said to him will definitely make him think. He hasn't made a final decision yet. Even if he already has a preference, this conversation will make him reconsider."

Earlier this month, Shams reported that the Warriors internally believe it will be difficult for them to become the front-runner to sign James unless they can trade for Anthony Davis, James's former Lakers teammate, from the Washington Wizards. Wizards general manager Will Dawkins later stated that he plans to keep Davis in Washington for next season.

The Warriors now hope that a series of offseason moves will impress James and lure him to the Bay Area to play alongside Curry and Green. These moves include re-signing Horford and Porzingis, as well as hiring Vogel, who led James to the 2020 title, as an assistant head coach.

Reporter Spears said: "I heard something today — the Warriors currently see themselves as a dark horse, and people think James will most likely go to an Eastern Conference team."

Another reporter, McMahon, discussed the prospect of James joining the Warriors: "The Warriors won't become title contenders just by relying on a 42-year-old veteran. It would be a highly talked-about story, and the team would be very entertaining to watch, but they wouldn't be a true championship contender."

Where do you think James will go? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.
