On July 8, Beijing time, per insider Shams, sources indicate that the Detroit Pistons are trading Caris LeVert plus two second-round picks to the Milwaukee Bucks for Taurean Prince and Gary Harris. The Pistons obtain a trade exception and cut salary expenses; the Bucks get LeVert along with draft capital.

LeVert, a shooting guard selected 20th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, has played for the Nets, Pacers, Cavaliers, and Pistons. He possesses a balanced skill set combining driving, mid-range shooting, and playmaking, averaging 13.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game for his career. Capable of initiating offense and handling the ball, he can serve as a secondary scoring option—exactly the type of ball-handling wing the Bucks need to relieve offensive pressure.
Prince has spent time with the Hawks, Nets, Timberwolves, Lakers, and Bucks. He is a reliable three-point shooter with strong physical defense, able to guard multiple positions, making him a solid 3-and-D role player. The Pistons bring him in to bolster forward defense and outside shooting, complementing their young big men and fitting into their rebuilding and development rhythm.
Gary Harris is a combo guard drafted 19th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Michigan State, formerly a key perimeter defender for the Nuggets. He has a career three-point percentage of 37%, outstanding defensive instincts, and was a two-way player in his prime. Though his playing time has dropped significantly this season with the Bucks, his three-point percentage remains at 41.2%. With solid off-ball shooting and backcourt defense, the Pistons acquire him to strengthen their perimeter defense and fill rotation gaps.
This trade benefits both sides: the Bucks turn two fringe rotation players into a primary ball-handling wing plus draft picks, enhancing their offensive depth; the Pistons offload a high-salary ball handler, freeing up cap space, and acquire useful defensive role players along with a trade exception, optimizing their salary structure to support long-term rebuilding plans.
