On June 27th Beijing time, the Lakers' 24th pick Cameron Carter officially introduced himself to the team, and he will sport the No. 43 jersey next season. In a press conference, he expressed his desire to assist the Lakers' Big Three through frequent alley-oop finishes.

Carter revealed that after being selected by Los Angeles, his first phone call was with Redick. Although his draft position dropped compared to earlier projections, his immediate reaction upon hearing his name called was "I'm going to the Lakers!" He could barely contain his excitement and is already eager to start training.
When describing his playing style, Carter said, "I'm explosive physically, dominant. I love dunking and I can also block a lot of shots." He added that his primary goal upon entering the NBA is to gain weight and improve his physical strength, with the gym becoming his "second home."

He also mentioned that his style of cutting, dunking, and pushing the ball in transition can complement the Lakers' star players. Carter hopes to share the burden with Doncic and Reaves by catching many alley-oops, and he also included James on that list.
Carter also shared that when he played at Tennessee as a freshman, he tried his best to mimic every move of teammate Knecht, who was the team's star at that time. "We still have a great relationship; he will always be my brother."

Carter stated that he believes as long as he plays high-quality defense, he will quickly earn playing time. He aims to become the team's best defender.
Notably, Carter's father Chris Carter is a former NBA player with a six-year career; he finished second in the 1997 All-Star Slam Dunk Contest, losing to Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
