Tragedy! 17-year-old Spurs fan falls from moving vehicle during celebration, declared brain dead

On June 1 Beijing time, a young NBA fan fell from a moving vehicle while celebrating the Spurs' playoff victory, suffering a fatal head injury.

According to San Antonio's News 4, the 17-year-old's identity remains undisclosed. The accident happened last Friday during festivities following the Spurs' win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, which extended the Western Conference series to a decisive Game 7. He is currently in critical condition and has been declared brain dead.

According to his family, the teenager was joining the crowd in celebrating the victory when he accidentally fell from the vehicle, hitting his head hard on the ground. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was rushed to the emergency room and later transferred to another local hospital for treatment. A police source told the San Antonio Express-News that the boy has been declared brain dead, with little hope of survival.

The exact circumstances of this accident are still under investigation.

The San Antonio Police Department issued a statement: "This is a tragedy that could have been avoided. We extend our deepest condolences to the young man's family, friends, and all those affected. This incident serves as a reminder to everyone: public safety is everyone's responsibility. We urge all residents participating in celebrations to obey traffic laws, remain inside their vehicles at all times, and follow the directions of on-duty officers to ensure their own safety and the safety of others."

Yesterday, the Spurs defeated the Thunder once again, advancing to the NBA Finals. They will now face the New York Knicks.
