NBA star suddenly passes away at age 29

The basketball world is shocked by the news that forward Brandon Clarke of Memphis Grizzlies passed away at the age of 29. According to US media, the cause of Clarke's death is being investigated under suspicion of drug overdose. Authorities found drug-related paraphernalia at the location of his death in the San Fernando Valley area of California.

Brandon Clarke was selected 21st overall in the 2019 NBA Draft after an impressive stint at Gonzaga University. He quickly made his mark with the Memphis Grizzlies due to his energetic play style and effective defense. In his rookie season, Clarke averaged 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game — the best numbers of his NBA career.

His impressive performance earned him a four-year, $50 million contract extension with Memphis in 2022. However, the career of the 1996-born player was repeatedly interrupted by serious injuries. According to an indictment published by US media, police found more than 230 grams of kratom in the player's car after a high-speed chase.
