The starting lineup for the Chinese men's basketball team against Chinese Taipei remained the same: Zhao Rui, He Xining, Zhu Junlong, Wang Haoran, and Hu Jinqiu.

In the first quarter, the Chinese team clamped down on Chinese Taipei's outside shooting but failed to fully contain their naturalized interior player Gao Bokai, who put up double-digit points in the quarter. Luckily, our perimeter shooting was on fire, allowing us to take a 27-22 lead into the next period.

In the second quarter, Gao Bokai was largely contained, but the Chinese Taipei backcourt led by Chen Yingjun caught fire from deep. After Liu Zheng hit a miraculous three-pointer, they not only tied the game but took a 51-50 lead over China heading into halftime.

In the entire first half, Chinese Taipei made 5 of 10 three-point attempts, shooting 50%; the Chinese men's team hit 6 of 14 from beyond the arc, a solid 43% clip, with Zhao Jiwei, He Xining, and Zhu Junlong each making two three-pointers.

It's worth noting that three Chinese Taipei players scored in double figures by halftime: Chen Yingjun with 12 points, Gao Bokai with 15, and Lu Junxiang with 10, while no Chinese player had reached double digits.

Chinese Taipei's offensive momentum continued in the third quarter, with Chen Yingjun and Lin Tingqian scoring successively, and Gao Bokai anchoring the paint and securing rebounds. China fell behind by double digits at one point, but a late scoring run narrowed the gap to 71-77.

In the final quarter, the Chinese team displayed tremendous resilience, never giving up despite trailing repeatedly, with players stepping up when needed. Zhao Jiwei hit a heroic deep three to tie the game.

Immediately after, China relied on drawing fouls and converting free throws to take the lead, as shown in the photo where Zhao Rui drew a three-shot foul on Lin Tingqian.

In the decisive final moments, the Chinese men's team finally locked down Chinese Taipei defensively, winning 100-93 and completing another major comeback in this World Cup qualifying campaign.

Thank you, Li Hongquan!
