On February 24th Beijing time, NBA insider Spears revealed on a program that Curry still wants to play for the USA men's basketball team at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"Stephen Curry is still keen on a second Olympic appearance. He will be 40 years old by then, but you must understand, he is a shooter—the best shooter ever. How could anyone not want him on the team?" Spears said. "He hasn’t officially retired from the national team. That’s one way to put it."
Curry made his Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Games, helping the USA men's basketball team secure the gold medal, delivering a stunning performance in the final against host France.
Curry has often expressed how much he enjoyed that experience. On teammate LeBron James’s podcast "Mind the Game," he confirmed that he has not closed the door on returning to the Olympics, especially with the 2028 Games being held on home soil in the USA.

If Curry ultimately competes in the Los Angeles Olympics, he could join teammates like Edwards from the Timberwolves, Cunningham from the Pistons, Jaylen Brown from the Celtics, and Cooper Flagg from the Mavericks on the USA men's basketball roster. Earlier today, ESPN also reported that Durant hopes to participate in the 2028 Olympics.
Regarding the notion that "Paris Olympics are the legends' final dance," Durant told ESPN, "That’s just media speculation. Where did this 'final dance' idea come from? I never said I’m not playing. LeBron said he’s done, but you haven’t heard that from me or Curry." US media noted that besides clearly stating he hasn't left the USA team, Durant also hinted at wanting to team up with Curry again at the Olympics.

Curry will continue to sit out for a few more days due to a knee injury; he has been sidelined since before the All-Star Weekend. He has missed all of the Warriors’ games in February. After Butler was ruled out for the season with a knee injury, the Warriors lost another key player.
In recent seasons, Curry’s health has been a significant concern for the Warriors. The 37-year-old guard seems to be declining physically due to the long-term demands of intense competition.
