Durant responds to rumors about a secret account: I don’t want to get involved in any messy nonsense, focusing solely on moving forward this season.

On February 19 Beijing time, following reports that Durant had used a secret social media account to privately criticize teammates, he spoke for the first time, telling Houston journalists that he “doesn’t want to get involved in all the messy nonsense on Twitter.”

According to unconfirmed screenshots, an account believed to be Durant’s had criticized Sengun and Jabari Smith Jr., along with some of his former Suns teammates.

“I know you have to ask these questions, but I’m not here to get involved in all the messy nonsense on Twitter,” Durant said after practice. “Right now, I’m just focused on this season and moving forward. My teammates are well aware of the situation, and we’ve been very united all season. Practice went well today, and we’re all looking forward to the upcoming road trip.”

When asked about the matter, Rockets head coach Udoka responded, “I don’t do social media.”

Earlier, US media shared some comments allegedly from Durant’s secret account, though there is currently no concrete evidence proving that Durant posted those messages—

Comment 1: The coach’s strategy is just to pass the ball to Alperen (Sengun), hilarious. In this lousy team, I’m the one making mistakes, and I don’t care. Your franchise star can neither shoot nor defend, which is a far bigger problem than my turnovers. Remember, these guys are your future. These Rockets fans got triggered and started...

Comment 2: I don’t believe Jabari (Smith Jr.) can make a single shot or stop an offensive possession. Honestly, don’t even let him take technical free throws. Behind the scenes, he’s just an idiot.

Comment 3: The days with Devin Booker and Vogel... it’s all because Booker came back... two dictators... When we lose, it’s my team; when we win, it’s Booker’s team.

Comment 4: I really have to laugh, or else I’d cry. I swear, I miss Ben Simmons. At least that guy would pass me the ball.

Durant was selected for the 2026 NBA All-Star game and currently leads the Rockets with an average of 25.8 points per game, shooting 50.6% from the field and 40.3% from three-point range.

Durant, along with Sengun and Smith, are starters for the Rockets, who hold a 33-20 record. The Rockets will face the Hornets on the road this Friday to resume the 2025-26 season schedule. Currently, the Rockets trail the Western Conference’s third-place Nuggets (35-20) by just one win.
