19 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists! What a remarkable comeback trade! Thank you, Thunder!

People thrive when they move, but wither when they stay put.

The Thunder couldn’t develop this high draft pick, but he’s shining now with the Bucks.

In the recent Bucks’ 110-93 victory over the Thunder, Giann tore apart his former team, starting and playing roughly 37 minutes, shooting 7 of 12, delivering 19 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 4 blocks — showing his presence strongly on both offense and defense.

In his last two games for the Bucks, Giann averaged 29.6 minutes, scoring 18 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, dishing 3 assists, and blocking 2 shots per game, with a field goal percentage of 59.1% and an impressive three-point shooting rate of 57.1%.

This guy was born on May 21, 2003, is French, stands 2.06 meters tall with a 2.13-meter wingspan, plays forward, was the 11th overall pick in the 2022 draft, and after three and a half seasons of mediocre performance with the Thunder, was let go before this year’s trade deadline.

Notably, Giann experienced three trades within 24 hours: first traded by the Thunder to the Hornets, then sent from the Hornets to the Bulls, and finally moved from the Bulls to the Bucks.

Seeing Giann perform so well now with the Bucks, one wonders if the teams that gave up on him regret their decisions. He will become a free agent this summer offseason, and if he maintains or improves his current form, he has a strong chance to secure a lucrative contract.

By the way, the Thunder are no longer the top team in the current NBA regular season. With a record of 42 wins and 14 losses (a 75% win rate), they still lead the Western Conference but have lost the league’s best spot to the surprising Pistons, who hold a 40-13 record (75.5%).

The reason the Thunder are no longer dominant is largely due to recent injury troubles. Their star player Alexander has missed five consecutive games due to an abdominal strain and withdrew from this year’s All-Star game; their other core guard JaVale has suffered his second hamstring injury this season... Clearly, the Thunder’s biggest obstacle to defending their title is not opponents but injuries.

“Since we’ve chosen to part ways, let’s wish each other well.”
