In the first quarter, Diallo opened with a jump shot for two points, but Lofton and Liu Lijia hit consecutive three-pointers to take the lead. Liu Zheng scored several layups and then made a three-pointer himself, extending Shanghai’s advantage. Jia Mingru’s three-pointer stopped the bleeding for Shanxi, but Wang Zhelin and Fogg sparked a scoring run, pushing Shanghai ahead 19-10, forcing a timeout for Shanxi. Faye and Fogg made free throws, and after Yan Pengfei’s half-hook shot, Shanghai ended the quarter leading 27-15.

In the second quarter, Yan Pengfei and Xie Liyongwei scored layups, Whiteside slammed a dunk, and Shanghai extended their lead to 16 points. Although Liu Chuanxing completed a 2+1 layup, Xie Liyongwei quickly responded with a three-pointer, and Wang Zhelin drew a foul to score from the line, pushing Shanghai’s lead to 41-21, a 20-point margin. Diallo and Whiteside clashed and both received technical fouls. Whiteside made consecutive free throws, further extending Shanghai’s lead to 25 points. Goodwin’s drive was met with a flagrant foul by Yu Miti, resulting in two free throws and possession for Shanghai; Goodwin made one of two shots. Yu Miti, frustrated by the call, responded with a three-pointer, which Lofton immediately answered with his own three. Liu Chuanxing fouled out with his fifth foul, Lofton made free throws, and the lead remained at 30 points. The third quarter ended with Shanghai ahead 85-57.

In the fourth quarter, Xie Liyongwei scored a layup and drew a foul to complete a 2+1 play, while Ge Zhaobao fouled out with five fouls. Despite the big deficit, Shanxi didn’t give up; Guy and Diallo scored to cut the gap to 65-90, forcing a Shanghai timeout. After the break, Liu Zheng and Lofton combined well, with Lofton finishing a powerful dunk. Diallo scored both inside and out to close the gap, but Xie Liyongwei’s three-pointer pushed Shanghai’s lead back to 30 points. Guy and Diallo hit consecutive threes as Shanxi went on a 15-4 run to narrow the score to 87-106. Lofton drew Diallo’s fifth foul in a one-on-one, but made only one of two free throws. Liu Zheng quickly stole the ball and scored on a fast-break dunk, widening the gap to 22 points. With limited time left, the game’s outcome was decided. Shanghai won 114-94, successfully defending their title.
