On February 12 Beijing time, the Mavericks confirmed that top pick Flagler underwent an MRI scan, which revealed a sprain in the middle of his left foot. The injury occurred during Wednesday’s away game against the Suns. Flagler will be sidelined for Friday’s matchup with the Lakers and will not participate in the 2026 All-Star Rising Stars game on Saturday.

The Mavericks fell 111-120 to the Phoenix Suns, suffering their eighth consecutive loss, tying the longest losing streak since November 9-25, 2016. Their current season record stands at 19 wins and 34 losses. Flagler scored 27 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in this game but injured his foot.

“I played aggressively, kept attacking the paint, used my body to fight through, and earned a good number of free throws, which I think was positive,” Flagler said. “We’ve been competing, fighting, and staying united. Obviously, we lacked energy early on. The start was a bit sloppy at times, but then we came together, fought back, and closed the gap.”
So far this season, Flagler has appeared in 49 games, averaging 34.1 minutes, 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 48.2%, three-point accuracy of 30.2%, free throw rate of 80.4%, and a true shooting percentage of 56.0%. His career totals to date are 999 points, 321 rebounds, and 202 assists.
