The first phase of the CBA season has just ended, and the Chinese men's basketball team promptly announced the training roster for the second World Cup qualifying window, as follows:
Zhao Rui, Zeng Fanbo (Beijing); Liao Sanning (Beikong); Zhao Jiwei (Liaoning); Zhang Zhenlin, Li Hongquan (Shanghai); Jiang Haoran, Pang Zhenglin (Jiangsu); Hu Jinqiu, Zhu Junlong (Guangsha); Cheng Shuaipeng (Zhejiang); Gao Shiyan (Shandong); Xu Jie, Hu Mingxuan, Jiao Boqiao (Guangdong); Xu Xin (Guangzhou); Qi Lin (Xinjiang); Zhao Jiayi (Qingdao); He Xining, Wang Haoran (Shenzhen); Yu Jiahao (Cantabria, Spain).

The training camp will run from February 5th to February 23rd, meaning all participating players will forgo their Spring Festival holiday.
In the first window of the World Cup qualifiers, the Chinese men's basketball team lost to South Korea twice with scores of 76-80 and 76-90 respectively.
Therefore, the second window of the qualifiers is critical; China will face Japan on February 26th and Chinese Taipei on March 1st this year.

Regarding this training roster, there has been little public objection; perhaps the only confusion is thatthe domestic scoring leader Guo Haowen, who is averaging 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists per game this season and once scored 42 points against Guangdong, has once again been left out of the Chinese men's basketball team...

If I'm not mistaken, Guo Haowen's exclusion is not due to his ability but rather past scandalous rumors, especially one during the 23-24 season when he played for Shanghai, which nearly ended his career.

As for why Zhou Qi was omitted, it is because of a recurring eye injury; he has been sidelined since mid-January this year, with his return date still uncertain.

In the last two World Cup qualifier games, Zhou Qi started as the team's main interior player, scoring a total of 28 points and grabbing 27 rebounds. He remains the most well-rounded domestic player in offense and defense. His absence will clearly have a major impact, but fortunately, Yu Jiahao is expected to return on schedule.

At last year’s Asian Cup, Yu Jiahao served as the first backup interior player for the Chinese men's basketball team, averaging 7.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game with a shooting percentage of 45.5%. His 2.21-meter height gives him a strong advantage in rim protection and setting screens for teammates.
